# Summary The dealership receives praise for knowledgeable and responsive sales staff who provide excellent customer service during the purchasing process, but faces significant criticism regarding service department communication, diagnostic accuracy, and timeliness. Multiple customers reported unresolved issues including failure to contact clients about completed work, inability to correctly identify vehicle problems, and extended delays in service completion.
I had a wonderful experience working with Tom at the Audi Southampton dealership. I initially visited the showroom a few months before my existing lease was set to expire to begin exploring my options, and Tom was incredibly helpful from the start. Over the following two months, he remained responsive and knowledgeable, consistently keeping me updated on available incentives, new model releases, and any information that could help with my decision. He took the time to answer all of my questions and was always available. I highly recommend Tom to anyone considering purchasing or leasing an Audi!
I dropped off the car yesterday morning for the annual inspection and provided my personal phone number for updates, since it was different from the one they had on file. Despite this, I never received any call. Their website shows a 6 PM closing time, but that only applies to sales the service department actually closes at 5 PM, which I found out when I tried calling at 5:10. After several follow-ups today, I eventually discovered that the car had been ready since yesterday, but no one had contacted me. Communication and accuracy should really be improved.
If your idea of luxury customer service is being ignored when your first in line at the service desk and being told there's nothing wrong with your car, when there definitely is, this is the place for you. This was the worst vehicle service experience I've ever had. Our new Q7 has only 7k miles on it and suddenly started making a grinding/rubbing like noise from the front of the vehicle while moving and pulsates with the rotation of the wheels. Upon explaining this to the service rep, she immediately blamed the roof rack, so I explained the roof rack was on the car way before the noise started. She said they would look at it. Long story short, our vehicle is definitely making an abnormal noise near the front left of the vehicle that becomes louder with speed and pulsates with each rotation of the wheel. Service first said it was the tire pressure, then they said there wasn't a noise, then they said the tires were too worn down(tires only had 7k on them and the noise is only from the front), then they blamed the roof rack again, then they said there was no noise again. We asked the service rep to drive the vehicle and listen for the noise. She called back and said the only thing she could hear was the roof rack wind noise and asked where I kept the key for the roof rack so she could remove it and listen. Sigh. The thing is, the noise that our vehicle suddenly developed is so obviously not the roof rack from the way it sounds and the noise is coming from under the car. In fact, the noise pulsates with each rotation of the wheel. We have no choice but to travel to another dealership as the issue should hopefully be under warranty, or at least another dealership, can let us know what the problem is. No solution was offered from Audi Southampton. If you are unable to identify what the cause is or just don't have the capacity to schedule in working on the issue, just be up front and say it. It seems as if the primary goal of this service department is reduce the amount of service jobs by making customers so frustrated that they will never come back after initially purchasing a vehicle, which could make sense as a business model for sales in the Hamptons, but if they are going to have a service department, they need to put people in place that are able to provide basic customer service and think critically to work with their customers towards a solution that makes sense.
I got a flat tire on my way out of Sag Harbor , NY on a Friday evening after hours. I thought to myself how convenient, there is an Audi dealer off Montauk highway. I filled out the after hours form and left my car. Following me leaving my car, I dealt with the worst customer service of my life. It is now a week and they still have not replaced my tire. I've called every day for an update and either, no one answers the phone, no one knows what's going on or they take down your information and never call you back. I've spoken to Kyle in service multiple times to no avail. This has got to be the most frustrating experience I've had with a dealership. Lastly, this experience has led me to change brands and I will no longer be purchasing from Audi ever again.
John Knapp and his Service Team worked tirelessly to make our Audi customer experience one in which we felt they truly cared about solving our issues…..and they did!!!
