Just so happened to be driving by and saw a vehicle that caught my eye. I asked to test drive it and she didn’t want to let me. Maybe bc I’m black? Idk tbh. But their loss. I’ll go spend my 12k with someone else today. *Definitely isn’t any of their business what I arrived in. When I took the vehicle back to them guess what? They didn’t ask where I went or what I did. They asked what I wanted to do 😂 they offer extended test drives for a reason. The point of an extended test drive is to see if I want to buy the vehicle and not be rushed. Like I said I was passing by and saw a vehicle I was interested in which could’ve been a sale for YOU had I test drove and decided I liked your vehicle. What would I want to stop and test drive a vehicle there with you for ? Just to do it ??? But have a nice day.

And everything I stated was the truth My experience with Austinite Auto Sales started out overwhelmingly positive. I trusted them enough that I brought several friends there to buy vehicles from Sam and Crystal. I genuinely believed this was a erbusiness that operated in good faith. On the day I bought the car, the check engine light was already on. I asked them to check it before purchase. I was told directly that the issue was a bad water pump. I asked Sam how much it would cost to replace it, and he told me $300. I agreed to buy the car on that basis, with the understanding that the repair would cost $300. When I brought the car back in roughly two months later to have the water pump replaced, I was told the cost was now close to $800, not $300. At that point, I was unemployed due to federal grant funding being pulled from my social work position, and hiring across my field had essentially frozen. I went back to Sam, explained the situation, and he allowed me to pay the $300 I had available and take the car, with the agreement that I would pay the remaining balance later. I appreciated that accommodation and believed we were operating on mutual trust. After that, Crystal began repeatedly telling me that they were going to repossess the car, even though the remaining balance was essentially the repair cost. I made payments whenever I could. The threats continued. I went back to Sam again, and he assured me they would not repossess the car over such a small remaining amount. Based on that conversation, I believed things were resolved. Later, while texting about payments from the Austinite Auto Sales business number, I was told that “this isn’t the experience we want you to have,” and those messages were blamed on an employee named Anna. At that time, I had a Google review describing my negative interactions with Crystal. Based on what I was told, I updated the review to reflect that it was Anna instead. That was not true. The next time I came in, Crystal tearfully apologized in person, making it clear that she had been the person involved the entire time, not Anna. I let it go, because the reason I was there was urgent: the car was now spraying oil badly and needed immediate repair. By then, I had finally secured a new job. I was very clear from the beginning about payment. We agreed—in writing via the Austinite Auto Sales business text line—that I would pay $1,000 on the day the car was ready, which was two weeks after drop-off, and then pay the remaining balance two weeks later, on my next payday. As the agreed date approached, I started calling to confirm timing so I could plan transportation. I have a 20-mile commute each way, and Austin is not a public-transit-friendly city. I was repeatedly told someone would call me back. No one did. This went on for several days. By day 4, I was understandably frustrated. I was told I was “acting irrationally” for asking when my car would be ready after they had it for two weeks. Given the earlier misrepresentation about who I had been dealing with, trust was already damaged. On the day I was finally told the car was ready, I was informed that the car would not be released unless I paid the entire balance upfront, totaling around $3,800. This was a complete reversal of the payment agreement. I was told they never agreed to the prior terms, despite the fact that I have the text messages documenting that agreement, which I will be posting with this review. What started as a business I trusted and actively recommended ended with moving goalposts, broken agreements, misrepresentation, and threats. I don’t expect perfection from a used car dealer, but I do expect honesty and people standing by what they say. That stopped happening here. Instead they took advantage of me twice left me without a car and were everything that every negative review claims they are. Steer clear.

Just got this lil beauty at Austinite Auto Sales. Gabriella was very patient with me and my dad showing us as many vehicles as it took to meet out expectations. And Sam was pleasant as well. He allowed us to negotiate a price we felt comfortable with and the vehicle drove terrific the entire 3 and half hours back to our city. I got a 2014 Ford Focus SE with the all leather appearance package. But here's the real beauty.... they have 4 more Ford Focus for sale! You can't have mine but you can get your own. I named him Sam Elliot. Sure he's older, but still a sex symbol. And with that 2.0L flexfuel engine he's got a lil gravel in his tone. Love that leather. It's not often you can smell the horsepower when you're zipping around town. Thank you Austinite Auto for making us feel like long lost friends!

Someone recently rear ended us and we made the smart choice have it repaired at Austinite Auto. Sam and his team did a wonderful job restoring our car in a very timely manner. They were quick, reasonable, and professional!
