# Summary The shop receives sharply divided feedback, with some customers praising quick service, friendly staff, and same-day availability, while others report serious concerns including alleged damage to vehicles during inspections, unresponsiveness to service requests, and refusal to provide evidence of work performed. The positive reviews highlight convenience and personalized service in a limited market, while negative reviews cite dishonesty, poor communication, and lack of accountability.

Worst car repair shop i have ever visited my entire life. Overpriced, Dishonest and no responsibility and credibility. I had a very disappointing experience with this shop during an insurance inspection. I have owned this vehicle for about three years. The car has never been involved in any accidents and the windshield had never had any cracks before this visit. I brought my car to this shop for the inspection required by my insurance company. When I dropped the vehicle off, the windshield did not have any visible crack. After the inspection was completed and I picked up the car, I noticed a long crack across the windshield and reported it to the shop owner immediately. The inspection report that was provided to me after the inspection did not indicate any windshield crack. In fact, other issues on the vehicle were recorded on the form, but the section for “chips or cracks to windshield” was not marked. However, after I reported the crack, I was later shown a different document where a windshield crack was marked. Because the vehicle had been parked directly under their CCTV camera in clear daylight, I asked if we could review the footage to see the condition of the windshield when the car arrived and when it left. The shop declined to show the CCTV footage and stated that cracks are not visible in their CCTV recordings. During the conversation I was also told that I was trying to get a free windshield replacement, which was never my intention. I only wanted to understand how the crack appeared while the vehicle was at the shop. For transparency, I have kept photos of the windshield and the inspection documentation for my records. Unfortunately the situation was not resolved. Based on my experience, I recommend that customers carefully check their vehicle condition and inspection paperwork before and after leaving their vehicle at this shop.

I think people need to give Autotec a chance. I have always found the service to be great and Vanessa has always been extremely kind. They make themselves available, even after hours. Don't expect it to be a Toyota Dealership like you see down south, its a local shop with staff who care.

Very quick and friendly service. After calling around this was the only shop that could see me within the same day and complete the work while I wait. It took about 20 minutes total before I was on my way again. It was the most expensive option, however, the convenience and ease of not needing an appointment was worth it and the difference in price was only about a 30% increase. Sounds like a lot but it was a small invoice to begin with. The work they did was top notch and clearly going to last.

Not sure what all the bad reviews are for. Yellowknifers don't know what good service is because it's few and far between here. Had issues with my battery only a year after servicing it with Honda in Ontario. No Honda dealership here so looked this place up, and brought my car over there after getting a boost to do so. Auto Tech quickly changed the battery, and recommended a battery blanket to go with it. Paid about 400.00. Canadian Tire would have charged me 340 for battery and blanket but couldn't do it for three days. Auto Tech is a quick option, same day appointment, and Vanessa is fantastic. These people have skill and have provided fantastic service. Go there for any vehicle issues.

I wanted to get the recall issues on my Toyota Tacoma, purchased in Edmonton, addressed. Every time I called Autotec over the space of two years, I was told that they were short-staffed, I should e-mail them with what I needed done, and they'd get back to me to let me know when they could address those issues. They never responded to the e-mails I sent and when I mentioned this in subsequent calls, they just told me to send another e-mail! I took the opportunity of the Yellowknife fire evacuation to get the recall issues addressed at a Toyota dealership in BC. I'm not sure whether the service Autotec provides to those who purchase vehicles from them is any better, but, based on my experience, don't expect to get any service from Autotec if you buy a Toyota elsewhere.
