I called Belleville Chrysler after my engine light came on in my Jeep Compass and was told to come in for a quick scan, which they said was free and would only take a moment. The vehicle was diagnosed with an EVAP leak, and because I wanted the issue dealt with promptly, I booked an appointment for the next morning to have the leak located with a smoke test. I arrived at 8:30 AM, arranged my work schedule around their appointment, and was told the smoke test was what would be done that day. After hearing absolutely nothing for six hours, I finally called at 2:30 PM for an update only to be told my vehicle had just been sitting there all day because they were “waiting for approval” from me to do the smoke test. This was shocking, as the smoke test was the specific reason the appointment had been scheduled in the first place. Jessica then informed me that the smoke test was suddenly $175, despite previously being told the diagnostic cost was $90. She also stated, “Well, I wasn’t there for that conversation,” which seemed to be the dealership’s justification for the complete lack of accountability or communication. At that point, I realized my vehicle had been sitting untouched for most of the business day while nobody bothered to call me. Their shuttle also stops at 3:30 PM, something nobody disclosed when booking the appointment despite me explaining my work schedule in advance. When I returned to the dealership, my vehicle was parked outside untouched. I then spoke to Matt the owner, who initially insisted the car was still in the shop being worked on until I literally pointed out the vehicle sitting outside the window. He checked the computer and then admitted they were still “waiting for approval” for the smoke test. Again... the entire reason the vehicle was there. Only after I stated I was taking my vehicle elsewhere did the apologies and offers to “cover the fee” begin. Cover what fee exactly? Nothing had been done. The entire experience was disorganized, misleading, and incredibly frustrating. I wasted an entire day arranging transportation and work around an appointment where my vehicle apparently sat untouched for hours due to internal miscommunication and a complete failure to communicate with the customer.

I work in a dealer environment myself and have bought multiple vehicles off the lot. The experience i had at belleville dodge was a step beyond anything I have expirinced. Naming and Laura her incredibly kind and helpful they went out of ther way to make the experience excellent and the used vehicle program is far beyond what is expected of anyone selling a used vehicle.
