I recently brought my Jeep Latitude to Berglund Chrysler Jeep on Franklin Road because the electronic parking brake was engaging automatically whenever I came to a stop. This happened multiple times over a two-day period, and I even provided a photo of the warning light that appeared on my dashboard. I want to be fair and say that Jason, the Service Manager, and Stephanie were both polite, professional, and pleasant to work with. My biggest concern was not their attitude, but the lack of communication and the fact that the issue remains unresolved. My vehicle was at the dealership for a day and a half, and during that time I received only one update call. I had to repeatedly call the service department myself to find out the status of my Jeep and what, if anything, had been discovered. The technicians were unable to recreate the problem, even though the issue had been occurring consistently after 45 minutes to an hour of driving. Once it started, the parking brake would automatically engage whenever I came to a stop. I now have to drive approximately 300 miles home with the same unresolved issue. I was advised to continue driving the vehicle until a check engine light came on so they could hopefully recreate the problem. Given that this involves the braking system, that recommendation did not leave me feeling confident or safe. I was also disappointed to be charged $289 for diagnostic work when no diagnosis or solution was provided. I understand that intermittent issues can be difficult to pinpoint, but I expected better communication and a clearer plan for how to address an unresolved safety concern. While I appreciate Jason and Stephanie’s professionalism, my overall experience left me frustrated and concerned about the lack of resolution.
