The dealership receives mixed reviews, with customers praising the knowledge and professionalism of individual sales staff members like Kelly and Jennifer for their attentive service during purchases, while other customers report serious concerns about vehicle quality control, poor communication, unresolved service issues, and lack of accountability after the sale. The disparity in experiences suggests inconsistent quality in both pre-sale inspections and post-sale support.
I recently purchased a car from Kelly, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. She was knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely cared about helping me find the right vehicle. Kelly answered all of my questions, kept me informed throughout the process, and made everything simple and stress-free. There was never any pressure, just excellent customer service and honest communication. If you’re looking to buy a car, I highly recommend asking for Kelly. She went above and beyond, and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase! Thank you, Kelly! 🚗😊
Beware … Nice enough folks on the front end, but beware of what you purchase… I drove 2 hours to see an FJ Cruiser that came in on a trade. I didn’t even get in the door before being told it was one of the sales manager’s future father in law and it was NICE ! The narrative continued inside, and from our sales person Kelly Pruitt who commented that “he sure had the money to take care of it “ . Long story short I purchased it after waiting f o r e v e r for the paper work. On the way home I realized that there was a problem with the stereo- come to find out that both front speakers were blown. The next day I found out that I drove over 2 hours home on snowy roads with EVERY single tire 10-12 lbs low — and the spare had no air at all in it, and was showing signs of dry rot ! The front brakes were down to the nub too ! I contacted my sales person Kelly about this… I thought she should know that their service department dropped the ball on this one when they checked it. She apologized and told me she would have her manager call me. Shocker, no one ever called … It appears that they changed the oil and called it good . The cherry on top came when I finally received my tag from them after I called and rattled their cage. The temporary tag with its promotional frame had been installed with incorrect hardware, cracking the back panel where the tag is ! When I contacted them, my sales person, Kelly said she had installed the tag. When I sent her pictures and showed her what she had done, and what it was gonna cost me to fix, she apologized and told me she would tell Josh the next morning. I also told her that he had never contacted me about the other issues. I have yet to hear from him. I have bought used vehicles from private individuals and from dealers in the past. When you buy from a dealer, you pay a premium price, but you get a vehicle that has been checked out and deemed safe— or so I thought ! These folks charge a premium price for an unsafe vehicle. They also damaged the vehicle further when installing the tag. Please see the attached photos, and beware of this dealership.
The staff was friendly.I worked with Kelly; she was very knowledgeable in the details of the car that i've purchased. Explaining all the safety features and going over all the details. Jen took the time to explain the contract. Make sure I understood everything even though it was after closing. They never rushed me. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new or used auto.
The sales gentleman, Dean, was very nice. He explained how the process of buying a vehicle from you all thoroughly. And I love my new car. Thank you I also want to add that Jennifer was awesome explaining the contract.
Customer service is terrible. They don’t answer the phone, they don’t communicate unless you’re constantly showing up or calling, and it seems like they only have one technician doing repairs, if there are more, it sure doesn’t show. Even after paying, they still drag their feet with fixing your car. When I went in, I stood around for 20 minutes before anyone helped me. I watched them call other customers who weren’t even there, while all I needed to do was sign a paper. No one knew anything about my car or who had my paperwork until someone was finally assigned to it. There was zero compassion or urgency. I kept being told the tech would get to my car next & next turned into two weeks and a day later. I still don’t have my car. Take your car to North Carolina or anywhere else that will actually service your Jeep. Blackwell is NOT it. Update: I was called on 12/11/2025 to come pick up my car because it was “ready.” I was told that I would still need a front air shock assembly and compressor block, but that the car was good to drive. When I arrived to pick up my car, I backed out and sat there on the lot trying to fix my radio. That’s when I noticed the car leaking fluid. I informed the Parts Manager, and she told me to park the car so they could look at it. Long story short, my radiator is now cracked on the same side where they replaced the air suspension pump — and the radiator was brand new when the car was dropped off for repair. I was blamed for the issue and was asked why I came to get the car if it still needed work, even though I told the Parts Manager that they called me and told me to pick it up because it was driveable. The Sales Manager also told us to sign a paper stating that we wouldn’t bad-mouth them. They are refusing to replace my radiator, they did not fix the car like they claimed, and now they want $700 more on top of the two-thousand-plus dollars I’ve already paid for them to fix the air suspension pump. Previously, we were told to go buy lug nuts from an outside vendor and they would install them. But when we mentioned that Blackwell in Martinsville had the air line needed to repair my car, they then told us they don’t use outside vendors for parts and that we would have to purchase parts through them. I have been asking to speak to the GM over the entire facility for three weeks. I’ve been told everything from “we don’t have one,” to “there is no man who works here, just Karen.” Karen even got to the point, she told us to just take the car. A CAR YOU HAVEN’T REPAIRED CORRECTLY! I also have pictures of the so-called repairs they did because I never even left the lot. I called Honda and even they said they have to fix the issue they created and they have insurance on their labor, but there is no accountability from Blackwell at all.
