Bob Johnson Buick GMC

I recently purchased a 2026 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 from Bob Johnson Buick GMC, working with Samuel Singleton (Deal #140930). Overall, my experience was really positive — the team was professional, friendly, the process went smoothly, and they put together a strong deal. They truly hit it out of the park on the customer service side. That said, I’m reaching out publicly in hopes they’ll do the right thing. I specifically told the sales team I needed a truck to pull a camper/trailer. I was assured the 1500 AT4 would handle it with no problem. After taking delivery (with only ~300 miles on it), I’ve realized the towing capacity is more limited than I was led to believe for my needs. I’m now very interested in the 2026 Sierra 2500HD SLT, which would properly meet my towing requirements. The new truck is only about $800 more than the one I currently have, yet trading in my nearly-new 1500 would put me significantly underwater due to the payoff versus the offered trade allowance. This would force me to roll negative equity and see a big increase in my monthly payments. I really like this dealership and want to stay with them, but I feel I was steered in the wrong direction from the start. I’m hoping they’ll make this right by treating the trade as a wash — letting me move into the 2500HD without taking a financial loss on the nearly-new 1500. That would allow me to get the truck I actually need without being penalized for the original advice I received. Accurate information on towing capabilities upfront would prevent this for other customers. I’m still happy to recommend Bob Johnson Buick GMC for their service, but I’m counting on them to step up and make this situation fair. He was able to address my concerns and made sure my vehicle was taken care of as well as answering all of my questions. Additionally, he gave me some great preventative maintenance suggestions.
