I showed up to buy a Hellcat, and the wife and I left with an Audi SQ5. Don’t ever get married. Lol. All jokes aside, the salesman Alan was a 21 year-old kid who I definitely thought was in over his head. Turns out, he was extremely professional and mature. Helped us find the perfect performance SUV my wife was looking for. The Audi was waiting on the lot right in front of us when we arrived. Handed him our license and immediately took a test drive. We both fell in love with the vehicle. Bernie, the finance manager, had us out the door from the time we entered his office in under 30 minutes. Super fast, super professional, stress free. 10/10 experience I had Erick helping us out through out the whole process was very patient, and helpful. Answered all our questions and had no problem grabbing multiple keys for us to test drive when we couldn’t decide. He was able to answer all questions we had about different models. I took my truck to this dealership because it had a constant P0305 cylinder 5 misfire. Before bringing it in, I had already swapped the ignition coil, injector, and spark plug, and the misfire remained on cylinder 5. I had also performed both a compression test and a leak-down test, and neither indicated a major mechanical issue. During my research, I found a TSB describing a similar problem, although it applied to an older model year. I brought this to the attention of the service writer and was told that performing the TSB would cost around $300, and if it didn’t resolve the issue, the expense would still be my responsibility. I was then given the option of paying $240 for a diagnostic instead, which seemed like the more reasonable choice since I expected a more in-depth evaluation from factory-trained technicians. The dealership confirmed the existing P0305 code, verified that the TSB did not apply to my truck because the PCM was already up to date, and recommended swapping components, performing compression and leak-down tests, and potentially inspecting the lifters and camshafts. The problem is that I had already completed many of those tests before bringing the truck in and had shared that information with them. I understand that diagnosing engine problems can be difficult, but I left feeling that I had paid $240 primarily to confirm a code I already knew about and to receive recommendations for tests I had already performed. I expected a more thorough diagnostic process for the amount charged. Based on my experience, I was disappointed with the value of the diagnostic service.
