# Summary The dealership earns strong praise for efficient, transparent sales processes and responsive service staff who prioritize customer communication and satisfaction, though one customer reported significant concerns about unauthorized diagnostic fees, undisclosed charges, and questionable paperwork practices during a service appointment. Most reviewers highlight positive experiences with knowledgeable staff and willingness to go above and beyond, while one detailed account raises serious questions about transparency and authorization procedures in the service department.
Thank you Clay Cooley Hyundai of Sherman!! Special shout out to Michael Sales my salesman and Cody Denton Finance Manager. They made the car buying experience easy and painless and worth driving an hour to get the deal done. Highly recommend reaching out to Michael if you are interested in getting into something new, he was awesome!
Ethan was great to work with. He made the whole car buying process feel quick and easy. He didn't keep me waiting for answers. He always kept me up to date with what was going on during the car buying process. I think this is the quickest I've been in an out of a car dealership. Most of them make you wait all day just to find out that they couldn't get you approved, but not these guys. I will definitely buy from them again.
I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this Hyundai dealership. We scheduled an appointment to have recall work completed on our vehicle as well as an oil change. While making the appointment, we also asked about an issue with our trunk and whether it might be covered under the vehicle’s warranty because we were unsure when the warranty expired. The woman we spoke with on the phone told us that the issue should be covered and never once mentioned any diagnostic fee. When my husband dropped off the vehicle, the technician told him that they see this issue often and that they get it covered under warranty all the time. My husband specifically told him that we wanted to know whether the repair would be covered before any diagnosis or repair work was performed. At no point did anyone explain that there would be a $100 diagnostic charge. To make matters worse, my husband was never asked to sign any paperwork authorizing a diagnosis or agreeing to any fees. We later discovered that paperwork had been signed anyway, but not by my husband. The signature and initials on the document do not belong to him, and we have proof that they are someone else’s. When my husband confronted the dealership about the signature that was not his, he was told that they sign that document for everyone. Rather than addressing our concerns, this response only raised more questions about their process and why customers are not being given the opportunity to review and sign their own paperwork. After keeping the vehicle, the dealership charged us a $100 diagnostic fee without our authorization. The diagnosis simply confirmed exactly what we had already told them was wrong with the trunk. We were never contacted beforehand to approve the charge, and when we disputed it, they refused to remove it. The entire situation felt dishonest and unprofessional. Customers should not be charged for services they never authorized, especially when signatures appear on paperwork they never signed. Between the lack of communication, unauthorized charge, and questionable paperwork practices, we left feeling completely misled and taken advantage of. Based on our experience, I would strongly advise others to avoid this dealership altogether. There are plenty of places that treat their customers with honesty, transparency, and respect. Unfortunately, this dealership did not do that. If this is how they handle something as simple as a warranty inquiry and diagnostic approval, I would have serious concerns about trusting them with larger repairs or purchases. We will not be returning for future service, and I cannot recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a trustworthy service department.
Service writer was knowledgeable and kept me informed. With a good amount of work needed, they made a good effort to keep parts costs down. The mechanic went to the extra effort to free up stuck bolts in the suspension.
I had a great experience with the service department at Hyundai. My engine issue was handled professionally, and I’m extremely grateful that they were willing to goodwill the engine replacement. The staff kept me informed throughout the process, treated me with respect, and made a stressful situation much easier to deal with. It’s rare to see a dealership stand behind their customers like this, and I truly appreciate the support and customer service I received. Highly recommend!
