# Summary The dealership receives mixed feedback, with customers praising individual salespeople and the initial buying experience, but expressing significant frustration with service department responsiveness, diagnostic accuracy, and accountability for vehicle condition issues. Several customers report being directed elsewhere for repairs despite purchasing vehicles from the dealership, while others cite incomplete service work and lack of follow-up on diagnosed problems.
UPDATE: the dealership has not reached out to me at all other than implying that I lied about calling on my review! & i hear what you’re saying about the car being sold as-is with no warranty, and I understood that at the time of purchase. But “as-is” shouldn’t mean “no accountability” or that basic standards go out the window. So I do have a question—was there actually any kind of inspection done on this vehicle before it was put on the lot? Because a transmission slipping less than 60 days after purchase doesn’t exactly scream “thoroughly checked and road-ready,” even for a vehicle with 115,000 miles. High mileage doesn’t automatically equal “sell it and hope for the best.” Also, I’m a little confused by the statement that there’s no record of me reaching out, because I did call your service department—and I have proof of that. During that call, I was told to take the vehicle to a Chevy dealership instead, which didn’t exactly feel like “we’re here to help.” At the end of the day, I’m not expecting a free pass on repairs, but I do expect honesty, transparency, and at least some level of responsibility for the condition the car was sold in. I’m open to getting a diagnostic done, but let’s not pretend this situation came out of nowhere Original review I recently purchased a vehicle from Community Ford of Mooresville less than 60 days ago, and I’m honestly really disappointed with how things have turned out. The buying experience itself was great—everything went smoothly, and I left feeling confident in my purchase. However, shortly after, I started noticing issues with the vehicle. I had it inspected, only to find out that the transmission is slipping, with an estimated repair cost between $6,000–$10,000. What’s most upsetting is the response I received when I contacted the service department. I was told they couldn’t help me and that I should take the vehicle to a Chevy dealership—even though I purchased the car from them. That response felt dismissive and lacked any sense of accountability or willingness to help! This situation has been stressful and financially overwhelming, especially considering how recently I made this purchase.
Shout out to Joel, Blake and Anthony. Writer, gm, and finance. First time I can say dealer did what I never expected customer was their first priority and it showed took while due to them fighting for a solution and much appreciated. All dealers/ service should be like this and make customers first. Well… I spoke too soon they removed my lift kit telling me that’s why it was shaking at speeds .. told them the shaking was from 60-72 mph they told me due to Tires.. they said once the suspension is replaced this would drive like the bronco I was using as a loaner. I get back and they must not have driven it after replacing all the components due to after 3-4 days the vibration was back and worse then with the lift kit. I take to tire place and come to find out it was not balanced Senr pic to store manager that it was not done no comment. I took them to a place tried to get them balanced and it was road forced at 87 they are supposed to be as close to zero as possible. I told them I would bring back to have done due to it has to be dropped off takes a while. So Apperantly when they replaced the components they didn’t drive enough to set the suspension prior to aligning and they didn’t check tires for balance issues they just assumed it was due to hard tires. So basically I bought a lofted truck due to the look, lost the look and kept the same vibration issues I was told would be fixed after removing the suspension parts.i thought I was being takins care of. After all this driving the same way as before with my original complaint Heard the noise again so jacked it up and the upper ball joint is blown that was replaced 1000 miles ago maybe when I take in this time they will align it like they were supposed to as balance tires like they were supposed to.. and they also never replaced the ds cv boot like they said they were goin to due to the inside axle was throwing grease everywhere
This dealership has done good service work for us twice before. My most recent visit was nothing short of frustrating. An absolutely disappointing experience with the attempt to diagnose an issue. This felt like backhanded attempt at taking in as much money as possible while leaving the actual issue intact. If the tech doesn't want to do the work, I would recommend not taking the $$ for diagnosis or give him the tech more training.
I had been in contact with Tim Schladweiler for around 3 weeks while my wife and I decided which vehicle we were going to purchase. Over those few weeks there were multiple phone calls and text messages; Tim never once made us feel like we were a bother or as if he didn't have time to help us with our questions. Ultimately, we chose to go with an Explorer ST and couldn't be happier. Community Ford made the deal so easy and convenient. We will most definitely do business with them again. Thanks Tim!! We really appreciate all of your assistance and time.
Updated Review: After our original contact with the sales manager and after leaving the review communication with the GM, Joel, began and we've come to an agreeable solution. I have to add that the communications we had with Walt in their Service Dept were exceptional. I bought a GMC Sierra approximately 2 months ago. A week or so ago I had an issue and was told since it's a GMC to bring it to a local Chevy dealership and that the extended "warranty" I purchased was fantastic and would keep me fully covered. After bringing it in the Chevy dealer found the torque converter and transmission were completely shot. I bought an "inspected" vehicle which had complete transmission failure in two months. The "fantastic" warranty that I bought and was told by our salesman was full coverage for powertrain is barely covering half. After speaking with their sales manager the best they could do was to take my truck to a Community Chevy location that's 30 minutes away... With a shot transmission and restart the whole process. That wat they could control pricing making the repair "cheaper". Yet they could and would not give any specifics. No partial coverage, no loaner car, zero guarantees.. after I just bought a car that had catastrophic failure just two months after purchase.
