# Summary The dealership has received consistently negative feedback regarding its service department, with customers citing unprofessional and dismissive staff behavior, warranty claim denials for legitimate manufacturer defects, and poor communication from management. Additionally, customers report that used vehicles purchased from the dealership developed significant mechanical issues shortly after purchase, with the dealership refusing to provide remedies or discounts for repairs, citing as-is sale conditions.

I unfortunately ended up having to sell my 2022 Acura TLX Type S to another dealership because of the terrible experience that I had with Dave White Acura. This was my 3rd Acura that I have owned ( also owned a 2009 Acura TSX and 2018 Acura TLX Aspec ). All 3 were serviced at this dealership. I started to have several issues with my 2022 TLX Type S starting in late summer of 2025. I took the car to Dave White to get it diagnosed as the car had less than 30k miles under it and it was under a full factory Acura warranty as I bought it brand new. Both Danielle and the other female that works in the Service Department were unpleasant, unprofessional and rude during each interaction that I had with them. The car started to experience several issues including rust dripping from the underbody, the turbo making strange noises and the center armrest leather wrinkling. I located a large area of rust on the underbody of the rear suspension that is 100% a manufacturer defect that was dripping rust on my garage floor almost immediately after I bought the car brand new. Dave White diagnosed it and told me that it was definitely an issue and that i would need the entire subframe of the car replaced. I was told that this is normal wear and tear from living in Ohio. They refused to fix the issue even though the car was fully under a factory warranty at 28k miles. They also did not fix the issue with the noise that the turbo was making as " they could not replicate the noise." They refused to ride along with me so I could show them the noise. They also refused to fix the leather on the center armrest that was already wrinkling and I was told this was normal wear and tear and would not be covered under warranty either. I could not be more disappointed and disgusted with this dealership. In the past, I had nothing but a great experience getting my car serviced by the previous Service Manager. Anytime I have dealt with Danielle, she found a reason to try and not be helpful and completely rude and unprofessional. At one point, she even refused my $50.00 off coupon for a brake service because I presented it at the time of payment instead of when I dropped the car off to her. I ended up trading the car in to the local Mercedes dealership as I was not going to drive a car that needed the subframe completely replaced at 28k miles and not covered under the full factory warranty. After speaking with several friends/family/ coworkers that have dealt with this dealership, my experience seems to be par for the course since Danielle took over as the Service Manager. Because of this experience, I will never purchase another Acura in my lifetime and will be sure to tell as many people as I can about the awful experience I have had at Dave White Acura in Sylvania Ohio.

Back in November I went in to finalize a purchase of a used car(10k) from the Dave White-Acura dealership located in Sylvania, Ohio. A couple of days after taking the car home the check engine light came on. I returned the vehicle immediately to get it checked out. While at the dealership the light turned off and they were unable to find anything wrong. A few days later, the same thing happened. The check engine light came back on, but this time the heat was not working as well. We immediately returned the vehicle to DW so that they could take a look. Within 10 days we needed to return this vehicle twice to be checked out. This time they found the coolant to be low and topped that fluid off and things seem to be Ok. Three months later there is still a coolant leak some where internally, and the engine needs to be completely replaced($8k). We have tried numerous times to discuss this with them, while working towards some sort of ethical resolution. This engine issue is widely known within the Ford community after some simple Google searches. The excuse during some of our conversation was that they do not know the Ford line well enough to service it. I find it funny that they are willing to sell something they do not know much about. They have completely wiped their hands of this issue at this point and are standing on the fact that it was an as-is sale. Which I completely understand and do take some fault in, but doing right by the customer should be a priority. There are things they could do to find some sort of common ground.

I bought a used Chevrolet Equinox, after having it only 10 days, it broke down. Had it towed over 2 hrs back to the dealer. They are asking over 2 grand to fix it. Won't even give a discount to fix it. Crooks. We did reach out to you. My friend George left a message for your sales manager. He never called back. Danielle that answered my call in the service dept, said you bought it as is, then started giving me price quotes to look into it. I have to have the engine rebuilt. I'm out money for getting it towed, for a car rental, and alot in parts so far. How about you asking Mr Spinks for my number.

I made an appointment a week prior to have the safety recall download installed in my 2024 ZDX. I sat there for 30 minutes only to be greeted by the Service Manager to tell me their WiFi is down an the update can't be performed. I offered to wait while the WiFi was repaired. I was then informed that this is an ongoing problem and it would (likely) be down for the next week - BUT - they'll be happy to call me after the repairs have been made. I'm a Persian Gulf War Veteran who's having double knee replacement surgery next week... UNBELIEVABLE. Maybe the repairs will be made by the time my knees have healed.

My recent experience with Dave White Acura was profoundly disappointing and far below the standard I expect from any luxury car dealership. From the moment I arrived, the customer service culture felt indifferent at best and dismissive at worst. One of the biggest issues was the lack of basic professionalism with all parties at Dave White Acura. For a service industry, that initial point of contact sets the tone — and unfortunately, the tone here was one of inconvenience and disinterest toward the customer. My Acura MDX Type S had an air ride suspension leak issue. The vehicle was still covered under the bumper to bumper factory warranty. They fixed the issue and I picked up the car two days later. Upon driving the car home, I noticed the right side of the vehicle was dramatically lower than the left side. So, the following week I called and explained the situation, naturally I had to take it back to the dealership. As I pulled into the service drive, I was greeted by Stevie sitting at her station with her leg on her knee scoffing at me. As she made a disgusted face, shook her head and reminded seated, while mockingly asked me, “now what’s wrong with this?” I got out of the car and asked her to look, she didn’t get up so I could show her, I walked around the car and pointed out from the front and back it was notably lower on the passenger side of the car. She rolled her eyes and said someone would have to look at it. Several days later I received a call form Danielle Bishop who informed me the shock was also broken on the same location as the air ride issue, and they replaced it. (Not sure why they didn’t think to look at this when they fixed it the first time since the whole system is connected) She also informed me the left side is still lower than the right and that’s “normal” so I need to come pick it up. I didn’t bother arguing with her about a crooked car, instead I spoke with the general manager Tenley Reid explaining the situation to her. Tenley told me she was going to speak with her boss and would reach out to me with some information. After not hearing from her for over a week I emailed her and she responded saying she was going to speak to her boss and forward him my email. It has been nearly two months, and I am still waiting for a call… In the meantime I called Acura of Columbus, and they offered multiple solutions over the phone and immediately remedied the situation with my car. At this point, I cannot recommend visiting Dave White Acura. If you expect attentive service, transparent communication, and staff who genuinely care about resolving your issues, you should look elsewhere. Acura of Columbus not only answered and returned my call quickly, but they also provided more help, advice, and concern for my situation – leading to a resolution. If you have an Acura and live in the Toledo area, do yourself a favor and drive to Columbus to service your vehicle and save yourself the frustration. Huge miss Dave White – you should be embarrassed by how your service department treats Acura’s customers, and Acura /American Honda you should be concerned about your namesake with this dealership servicing your products.
