# Summary The dealership receives sharply divided reviews, with customers praising the sales and service team's professionalism, attentiveness, and fair pricing when positive interactions occur, while others report significant issues including misleading trade-in valuations, service department failures, poor communication, and staff defensiveness when challenged. The quality of experience appears highly dependent on individual staff members and specific circumstances, ranging from stress-free purchases to costly service mishaps and unresolved complaints.
Dobson Dodge Chrysler Jeep has been excellent in my experience with dealing with the Service Department. I now have had my first experience dealing with the Sales Department. From my first phone call to date, the Sales Department has been available to answer all of my questions. The service provided from Moe and the rest of the Sales Team is the reason I chose Dobson when it was time to purchase a used Jeep. Thanks again Moe for making sure I was satisfied even after my purchase. I am always nervous making large decisions, the relationship I have with this dealership makes that decision less stressful. Thanks again Dobson Chrysler Jeep.
Contacted them by phone as I live over an hour away. We discussed a deal with my trade in. They first gave me really low numbers on my trade and I told them I was not interested. I was okay to walk away as I had other deals I was considering. he salesperson then asked me what I needed on trade and I told her what numbers I had been seeing from other dealerships. She then gave me a quote for a bi-monthly payment and term on a vehicle I was interested in. I sent them pictures, explained a minor accident on the carfax, and said the vehicle has extra warranty still on it. I drove over an hour to their location, took the vehicle I was interested in for a test drive and they looked over my vehicle. its important to note that they had pictures and all relavent information on my trade going in. When I got back from the test drive I stood around for fifeteen minutes and then she came back with numbers. They low balled me on the trade again. It was a complete waste of my time and they used deception to get me to drive there as they either never had any intention of coming up on the trade in value or the salesperson did not have any real power to get those numbers up and likely hoped I would just take the deal anyway. I will never return to this company again. In a world where inflation and the cost of living has gone through the roof lately, you need to protect yourself from such people. She even sent me a nasty text after I walked out talking about how I wasted her time!!!
I've purchased many new vehicles from a wide variety of dealerships over the course of my 52 years of driving. My recent purchase of a new RAM 2500 from Dobson's in Saint John, NB ranks among the very best experiences I've had. Moe Murphy was a consummate sales professional, answering all of my questions and searching out the answers even when they weren't immediately at her fingertips, listening to what I wanted and not trying to convince me to consider the dealer's own available inventory which unfortunately wasn't the right fit. She was able to quickly locate at another dealership a vehicle which checked all the boxes. The negotiation process was straightforward and stress-free and I received a fair price for my trade. Even after the purchase was complete and I had been driving the new truck for several days, Moe remained readily accessible, responding immediately to my follow-up questions and going the extra mile to make sure I had the info I needed. My experiences with Eric, the Finace Manager and with the Parts Manager at Dobson's were also very efficient and stress-free. I wish that all of the vehicle purchases over the years for my wife and I would have been this smooth and hassle-free. I highly recommend Dobson's if you're looking for a Dodge, Jeep or Chrysler vehicle.
My experience with the staff at Dobson has been nothing but lie after lie and the blame game I bought my jeep gladiator in Moncton and decided to buy the mopar two inch lift from Dobson in Saint John very straight forward job as it’s a mopar lift and won’t void your warranty well first go around they ordered the wrong kit and didn’t realize it until halfway through the job and then proceeded to call me and try to convince me to just leave the front part of the lift on the front and use the existing parts on the back that it would look good until they could get The actual parts for the kit to complete the backyard no that didn’t sit well with me so they removed the lips from the front and put all the old parts back on the jeep and tell me that it will take another 10 days to get the proper lift in. OK that’s not so bad when I get to call that depart has come in. I have to wait another few weeks to get it installed. That is just the first part of my dilemma. Now I’m ready for round two as they take my jeep back to install the lift I provided them with extra parts that the lift didn’t come with like adjustable, track bars, and adjustable control, arms and links and a upgraded sway bar to install that the kid don’t come with and it just made it easier to work with when you do your alignment. Well, needless to say I get a call. The jeep won’t be ready because it has a severe wobble that would scare you to death when driving on the highway. so I tell them to leave the truck and I will come test drive it to see What they did so when I get there, I am met with the manager and shop Foreman, who tried to convince me that the $600 fox steering damper and wheel spacers that have been on the truck since day one is causing a truck to wobble uncontrollably, and as I go to explain, there’s no way that wheel spacers would cause a severe death wobble unless they didn’t tighten the wheel nuts and with me confronting them I am told by the manager I can take my keys if I didn’t like it and leave and when I looked at the shop foreman, he did not want to hand the keys over because he said there was too much traffic and it was a death trap so now I am still left with no jeep in the hands of mechanics that will lie to your face and when they find out, you know what you’re talking about they will have no problem telling you to get out so now all I can do is wait for round three and see where it goes from there. I guess I will keep everybody posted and see if the owner of this dealer ship is willing to step up and confront his manager and talk to the shop foreman because this is absolutely pathetic and very costly for the customer and all it was was a simple five hour job at best to put a 2 inch Mopar lift kit on how sad is this and to update everyone no one ever reached out to me to discuss this matter they leave a little post at the bottom that somebody will be in touch but no one ever does so that tells me that the owner is just as bad as a staff. The apple don’t fall far from the tree. It will be nice to see the day that dealerships are closed for good so my advice if you are able to is to take your vehicle to either Moncton or Fredericton if you can and that’s my take away from this experience.
Their voicemail is pretty great. It's so great that it makes you vehicleless and visit the great Moosehead brewery. They aren't helpful for vehicle repairs, but they do a good job of encouraging bus transit and beer. Thx for helping me explore Saint John.
