Don Nicholls Dream Machine

I brought a vehicle of mine to this shop after having been towed from several blocks nearby. I was driving to the grocery store and my vehicle had suddenly stalled out on my way. I asked for Don to inspect the vehicle fully, as it was my desire to rebuild the vehicle slowly. Even when I initially walked into the shop, he was curt and displeasing to deal with. He began telling me as to why that make/model of vehicle was a poor build to consider and discourage me in every way possible. It was as if he was just having a bad day and being mean to someone for the sake of it... Having no other option, I left my vehicle with his shop. Two weeks later, I was contacted by Don to advise of what his technicians had done thus far. Don advised that he had ordered a $300 part from over 1000 KMs away (a part I later commonly found for under $50 in nearby scrap yards) and required an additional $1400 for his "labour" before I could tow my vehicle away from them... Upon me being extorted (paying my bill in full) and picking up my vehicle, I asked the technician if she could walk me through the work she had supposedly completed on my vehicle. She was unable to do so. I later on received paperwork that did not attest to any of the detail Don had initially claimed when he called me. I got burned and learned the hard-way to stay away from this shop. There are honest, non-discriminatory classic car shops in and around Edmonton that can/will help anyone out for a fair price. Save your money and some serious headaches - keep looking.

Aside from the obvious appeal of excellently presented mobile memorabilia on display, the genuine hospitality of Don Nicholls and the entire team shine through. Nothing even remotely high-pressure here, Don genuinely enjoys this business, and is justifiably proud. Definitely a good vibe here, and I wholeheartedly recommend anyone looking to start or add to their collection to stop here and talk to Don. Cheers!
