# Summary The dealership receives mixed reviews, with customers praising individual staff members for honesty and friendliness while criticizing trade-in valuations that fall significantly below market rates and service department practices that have resulted in unnecessary repairs and additional charges. Some patrons report poor treatment and unprofessional behavior, though others highlight positive experiences with specific sales and service personnel.
Visited the dealership recently and had a very difficult experience. The owner was sarcastic, but there was another gentleman, he wouldn’t say his name, even kept offering random names when I asked who he was, that was extremely rude and when I actually left his comment to me after I turned to walk out, the door was, “get out of here.” I would avoid this place at all costs. Plenty of other dealerships who would appreciate the business and not treat a woman so poorly.
Very nice staff, but extremely low on their trade in values. They were $5,000 lower then the average from other dealers in my area. We were told that because Chevy put a rebate on the car we were interested in, they couldn't do any better on the trade. Again, very nice, but I would suggest checking their trade offers against any other dealer before finalizing a deal here.
I was having issues with my 2017 Traverse. After taking it to two different transmission shops (we thought it was the torque converter) we were told it was a misfire although there were no misfire codes, there was only an e-vap code. We took the car to Doug Richert Chevrolet in Holton trying to keep our business local. We dropped the car off while we were on vacation (they had it for 1 week). We were quoted roughly $950 to change all 6 coils, the gasket, sparkplugs and oil change. Upon returning home and going to pick the car up we were told the coils did not need changed but we were charged roughly $950 for an oil change, new gasket, sparkplugs and e-vap censor. (the e-vap senor takes less than 5 minutes to replace and its a $24 part). Upon pulling out of the lot I went less than 1 mile before the car continued what it was doing prior to taking it in to this shop. I immediately returned. Only after I returned was I told the mechanic believes it is the torque converter, that was in his original notes but they did all the "repairs" before calling us to notify us that the car was ready for pickup. We took the car back to the most recent transmission shop the next day to learn that according to their graphs, the car is misfiring on cylinders 3 and 4. Now Doug Richert Chevrolet want to charge us an additional $750 (approx.) to change out the coils they were instructed to change to begin with! Not to mention, they want to charge again for a new gasket. Never again will I take a vehicle to this shop. I will never do business here again.
Our experience with the (Holton, Ks ) sales, service and customer service was amazing. Enjoyed working long distance with Andrew Dougherty our sales person. He is the most honest person and I wish all experiences with sales were held to the same standard that Andrew holds himself to. Thanks Andrew for all your work and going beyond the call of duty!
Always great service. Friendly staff. Honest, reliable work. Fair pricing. And they don't treat me like a "dumb woman" like many car places have done.
