# Summary The dealership receives consistently high praise for its sales staff, particularly for their attentive, pressure-free approach and willingness to go above and beyond to meet customer needs, though one customer experienced significant issues with a vehicle's pre-delivery inspection and subsequent warranty claim handling. While most reviewers highlight excellent service from management and support staff who actively work to resolve concerns, the one negative experience revealed gaps in communication, follow-through on promised callbacks, and transparency regarding claim denials.

The end of lease was coming up on my 2023 KIA Sportage. I met with Katie Brockington to go over my options. Katie went above an beyond, taking the time to review the features and the pricing options on a 2026 Sportage as well as a 2026 Seltos. We test drove a Sportage and a Seltos. Sales Manager Mitch Nelson was also great in providing viable pricing alternatives. After considering the pricing and trim packages, I went with a Sportage EX. I am very happy with that decision and I want to thank Katie for all her help. I highly recommend Katie and Dutchess KIA.

I am filing a formal complaint regarding my experience with Kia Dutchess following the purchase of my new 2026 Kia Sorento. I purchased the vehicle from Kia Dutchess and experienced a flat tire within the first week of ownership. When the tire was replaced, I discovered that all four tires had been inflated to approximately 48 PSI, roughly 12 PSI above the manufacturer's recommended specification for this vehicle. This raises serious concerns that the vehicle was not subjected to a basic pre-delivery safety inspection before being handed over to me. Overinflated tires can negatively affect handling, braking, and tire wear, and I consider myself fortunate that this situation did not result in a more serious incident causing injury or worse. I had the damaged tire replaced at Mavis at a cost of $291.72. I then contacted Kia Dutchess Service to express my concerns about the overinflated tires and request reimbursement for the replacement cost. Service Manager Daren informed me that the vehicle was under warranty and instructed me to bring in my receipt so that I could be refunded. When I arrived, I was unexpectedly told that Kia also needed the damaged tire itself. This requirement had never been mentioned during our phone conversation. I then had to return to Mavis and personally search through a pile of discarded tires to locate my tire, three days after it had been replaced, before bringing it back to Kia Dutchess. Daren then advised me that he would submit a claim to Kia. Again, this process had never been explained to me beforehand, and he presented it as though bringing in the tire was the final step needed to issue reimbursement. Over the following two weeks, I called Kia Dutchess Service every couple of days seeking updates. Each time, Daren told me he would check on the status and call me back. Not once did he return my calls as promised. Eventually, after I contacted the dealership again, I was told that the claim had been denied. Daren never proactively informed me of the denial and never provided any documentation or proof that a claim had actually been submitted. I am extremely disappointed by both the apparent lack of a basic safety inspection prior to delivery of a brand-new vehicle and the unacceptable level of customer service I received afterward. I was misinformed about the process, repeatedly promised callbacks that never occurred, forced to recover a discarded tire myself because critical information was withheld, and ultimately had transparency regarding the denial of my reimbursement request. No customer purchasing a new vehicle should have to question whether fundamental safety checks were performed or endure this level of frustration simply to seek resolution. Edit after owners response: I appreciate the owner's acknowledgment that the recommended tire pressure adjustment was missed during pre-delivery preparation and that communication from the service department fell short. To clarify, this occurred within the first week of ownership on the Friday before Memorial Day weekend. I contacted Kia Dutchess first, but the service department informed me that they were closed for the long weekend and couldn't replace the tire until the following week, so I had no practical choice but to have the tire replaced elsewhere so I could continue using my new vehicle. I was never informed of any warranty process, reimbursement requirements, or the need to retain the damaged tire until after the repair had already been completed. I understand the flat may have been caused by a road hazard. However, given the admitted PDI oversight and how the situation was handled afterward, I still believe reimbursement of my $291.72 expense would have been a reasonable goodwill resolution.

I cannot say enough good things about this dealership. I had what is probably the best car buying/leasing experience of my life here recently (Dec 26 and 30, 2025). First, I had a female sales person, Katie. Go see her. She is the BEST. She is a real people person and so easy to talk to and she really listens! I went in knowing what I wanted and she didn't try and upsell me or get "pitchy" with me. She listened and helped me find exactly what I wanted. The meetings were pleasant, timely, and she is great to be around. They didn't have the car I wanted on site, so they called and located one in Albany and Katie drove to Albany and back in the snow to get me my car. The management at the dealership is also great, Mitch and Frank, both super supportive of their sales staff and both checked in with me often to ensure I was getting the help I needed from Katie (I was!). I have already recommended this dealership to a friend and I will be a customer there for life!

I’m so happy to have had Yazen from Dutchess Kia help me find the right car for my wife. From the very beginning, he was open-minded, respectful, and never once pressured me or asked about monthly payments. He focused on what we actually wanted, not just what he could sell. The whole buying process was incredibly smooth thanks to his clear communication—texting and calling back and forth with pricing and options until we landed on the perfect fit. If you're looking for a salesman who actually listens, cares, and never pressures you, Jazen is the guy. I also want to give a shoutout to George from the finance department. He made that part of the process just as easy—straightforward, honest, and no upselling. I came in having done my homework on the numbers, and when he presented the contract, everything matched exactly—no surprises, no nonsense. It was truly a transparent and pleasant experience from start to finish.

The owner reached out to my family and I after a previous bad experience with the call center…. All my concerns were addressed and the service manager Jeff spoke to me personally when I came into the dealership for service… I’m super appreciative that leadership reached out to me to fix things, it went a long way…. I went in for a hatch repair at 9:00 and I was out the door before 10:30 with everything fixed. The man running the service desk (I think his name was Joe) was also incredibly helpful and accommodating towards me and the other customers in the store… Incredibly grateful to the staff for addressing my needs and concerns…
