The dealership receives consistent praise from customers for its professional, friendly staff who provide attentive service, with salespeople like Nick, Dalton, Grant, and Jacob noted for their helpfulness and lack of pressure tactics during the vehicle purchasing process. However, one customer reported significant frustration with service department delays, poor communication regarding warranty transmission work, and inadequate support during an extended repair period that resulted in substantial out-of-pocket expenses.
Visited Firelands on 3/18/26 as they had two vehicles I was interested in to trade my 2025 Mazda CX50 in on. I brought all my records of offers I had from other places to include Carvana and Carmax. Firelands matched the price and I "downgraded" to a 2023 Nissan Kicks SR with 11k miles on it. I love the Kicks, I've had one before and didn't miss it till it was gone. Nick, my salesman, was very nice and professional. Dalton, the manager, was also very friendly and professional. I came prepared with my Kindle Reader so the wait time wasn't an issue as well all know how long it takes to go through this process. These are very big dealerships but everyone was nice. Open doors for you, offer you coffee/water, etc etc. A very pleasant experience and I wouldn't hesitate to go there again.
To say that we are pleased with the recent purchase of our new Toyota Corolla Cross would be an understatement. The staff at Firelands is professional and attentive to what we were looking for to meet our needs. While they didn't have the particular vehicle in their current inventory, they worked to find and secure what we wanted. We are grateful to have worked with Grant Dufresne and highly recommend him. We actually enjoyed the car buying experience because Grant listened to us and didn't make us feel pressured in any way. He kept us updated on a regular basis as to when our vehicle would arrive. On the day of delivery, he took the time to familiarize us with all the technological features on the vehicle and made the transition smoothly and seamless. Thanks to Firelands Auto Group and Grant Dufresne for such a positive experience. We certainly will trust and appreciate the total buying experience.
Thank you Jacob for all of your help. We were happy to be your first sale. You are fairly new and still learning but did an excellent job. You made our truck buying experience so enjoyable. Everyone we encountered there was very friendly and helpful. The dealership and restrooms are extremely clean. We would definitely recommend this dealership and especially Jacob to anyone. Thank you so much and good luck Jacob. You make an excellent salesman.
I recently purchased my dream truck from Dalton. Easiest, most seamless process ever! They are wonderful here and very patient! I live over an hour away and got there when they closed. They were more than happy to stay and help me. I wasn't sure if I'd get approved, they worked hard and made it happen! I highly recommend Dalton and the Firelands family!
My 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee (49,000 miles) experienced transmission problems on my recent visit to Sandusky during the week of the Thanksgiving holiday. I took it to the Firelands Auto Group Dealership for service/warranty work. They confirmed the transmission problem but stated they could not get parts due to back order. In my cursory search, I found there is a well documented history of OEM bushing failures and plant manufacturing issues on Stellantis 8 and 9 speed transmissions. After not hearing from the delearship on the Friday after Thanksgiving, I called several times and left messages trying to get updates. I called again on Wednesday December 3rd, the dealership told me they recieved the parts on Tuesday evening December 2nd and would get right on it but it wouldn't be ready until the beginning of the week of the 8th. Today is the 8th and I was informed by the service manager that the transmission technician is out and they now must send my transmission to another dealership to be repaired. I have paid over $1000 in motel and rental car expenses. I have missed work. I will still need to fly back to Ohio to get my car. I am extremely disappointed in the unavailability of parts for my vehicle that are manufactured in the United States, dissatisfied with the inaccuracy of information and the scarcity of communication provided by the dealership. I was led to believe things were being taken care of expeditiously but I was wrong. Corporate Jeep offered very limited relief in the form of a rental car reimbursement of $50. I have documented every call, message and response. This is not good customer service. My patience has worn thin but unfortunately I have no alternative. My Message to Pat O'Brien, owner of Firelands Auto Group....Shame on you!
