Do not take your car here for Restoration. Mechanic where i had the car retired during Restoration, Ron was great to get car in fast. Was charged a ton of hrs and money and work was not complete. On the invoice it actually says in progress but they want paid for hrs worked. Also invoice doesn't show what work you are paying for. Have to ask for hourly break down. I like to pay for things completed. When given an estimate and to find that it doubled. When car was brought to them he looked it over and gave me an estimate. He said there was a lot of things loose and they weren't expecting that, well for one it's under Restoration and fenders and doors needed aligned. So the last guy didn't tighten fenders down. So list of things they did wrong: So exhaust was on car just needs aligned, 15 hrs of work and exhaust hangs 2 inches low, found loose tailpipes and needed adjustment at collectors to manifolds. Fenders and doors never aligned, shifter tunnel mounted crooked so console sits crooked, rear studs replaced but not pressed in, brakelines a mess, wiring a mess. Front end more apart then when dropped off car, front bumper not aligned and bolts loose, rear pumpkin pinion seal was leaking. Didn't fix, they took cover off and put a glob of sealant on. Fuel tank bolts loose, not from them but there job to check. In stead of mounting seat tracks, (get weled in) he drilled holes in floor and mount seats. Seats never where installed. I had to correct mechanic and show him where seat tracks where in there shop and how to do correctly. Now have holes in floor that need weled and sealed. I have pictures. I can go on and on, you get the point. More then 2/3 of estimate not complete and was over total estimate. Oh and not impressed by mechanics. Maybe if your just looking for an oil changed. I’ve been using Fort Pitt Classic Cars for my 1968 Mustang GT for many years. Great work at fair prices for regular servicing and minor restoration needs. I recently decided it was time to let the car go after almost 20 years of ownership. While talking with Ron, he mentioned that Fort Pitt also had a consignment selling program. They’ve recently completed a number of high dollar sales/transactions, and the consignment fee was reasonable for the services performed. I worked together with Colin to come up with the initial selling price. It didn’t take long to get a final sale (to someone in France!) at a price just under the initial listing price. It was really nice to let someone else handle all of the work associated with selling the vehicle – vehicle prep/pictures, listings (on multiple websites), dealing with inquiries, dealing with pre-purchase inspections, and validating the funds transfer. Trying to manage a sale to someone outside of the U.S. would have been a challenge – Colin and the FPCC team handled all the details. I highly recommend working with Colin at Fort Pitt if you are looking to sell your high-end classic car.

I take my '78 Trans Am here for everything. It's a classic car, so there's always something and sometimes a little troubleshooting needs to be done, but the guys here always make it right and make me feel like I'm their most important customer. Everyone here takes a lot of pride in their work and it shows. In the past 3 years they've installed a rebuilt engine, put a new exhaust system on, fixed guages, repaired leaking fuel lines, replaced brakes, completed a detailed inspection of the car when I first bought it, tuned the carb, installed an alternator, and everything in between. It's hard finding a reliable shop that stands by its work - especially when it comes to classics, so I'm fortunate to have found Fort Pitt Classic Cars and will continue bringing my car here.
