# Summary The dealership receives sharply divided feedback, with some customers reporting positive purchase experiences while others describe serious post-sale problems including unresolved mechanical issues, prolonged vehicle repairs with poor communication, delayed license plate processing, and unexpected charges. Multiple reviewers allege that negative reviews are being removed and express frustration with unresponsive management and unfulfilled promises made during the sales process.
Just bought a car from them and had a great experience. Will recommend to my friends and family for future purchases
They constantly get bad reviews and get them taken down. I truly don’t know how this place is in business. DO NOT BUY YOUR CAR FROM HERE!!!! I will continue to leave this review until they resolve my issue. My next step is the attorney generals office. But I keep giving the GM time to get back to me. He’s been unreachable for a month. A JOKE!!!!!! Shut this place DOWN. My story: I purchased a 2020 Jeep Wrangler from Freehold Mitsubishi in December of 2024. Upon inspecting the Jeep we noticed it had an oil leak. I wrote in the purchase agreement that I was only purchasing the vehicle with promise the oil leak would be repaired. The manager at the time agreed to this and we signed off on it. Fast forward 6 months, the leak is still present. I took it back to the dealership where my vehicle was kept for 2 months with little to no communication. Getting ahold of anyone at this dealership is ridiculously difficult. This affected my job and reflected in my performance due to lack of transportation. Upon picking the jeep up, it was smoking from the hood and we had to wait over an hour while they fixed whatever they broke. I received an invoice with all documented “fixes” including the oil catcher which seems to be where the initial leak was found. A day later, my jeep breaks down on the side of the road and my coolant line burst. I was also informed that there was never any documentation of your dealership fixing the original leak in the first place. Due to cost of tow from where I live, and lack of trust in your dealership, we agreed for your dealership to cover cost of tow and repair to coolant line, which my local mechanic fixed. Fast forward another 2 months, the original leak is still present. I took it to my local mechanic and he explained it was the oil catcher. Which was supposed to be repaired by your dealership not once, but twice now. My mechanic informed me this is a 6 hour job, in the thousand dollar range, and I am not paying for it due to the original purchase agreement we had for the jeep. Your dealership promised to fix it, and they never did. This is considered a false sale.
Reviews are gone again; Check my review on their parts department for full review. This is a short version to warn people… In the year it has been since I bought my car, the reviews have all been deleted 3-4 times. - They will take forever to get you real license plates. If it takes more than 30 days, make them print you new paper plates. They can only print (2) sets of them. After the 2 months, get a hold of the state consumer affairs. They will launch an investigation into the dealer. - They charged $1,500 in “safety inspection” on my car. At night, my brake lights wouldn’t light up. Thankfully a cop stopped me and let me know, let me off with a break. Had this fixed by the dealer. Car needed brakes all around less than 2 weeks after buying. - The only honest person I talked to the entire “after sale” process was Jennifer. I truly hope she works at a better dealership now, but if not, don’t waste your time talking to anyone on the phone. They will claim they’re under new management or the person you previously talked to has never worked there. - This dealer has a sister company, Maserati of Monmouth. This is most likely where your plates will be ready for pick up at - NOT in freehold. Not a real big issue, if your plates ever get made. If you have issues with the dealer not fulfilling their responsibilities, warranty/registration/plates/etc, file with consumer affairs and if you have to go to small claims. Jennifer is the only reason I’m giving a 2 and not 1 star. Through my headaches of dealing with them, anytime I got to talk to her - stuff got done and was handled properly in a very timely manner. I will never buy another car from this dealer, or any associated with them. Nor will I recommend anyone else to.
I would recommend a junk car off facebook before I would tell anyone to buy a car from free hold Mitsubishi, everything was wrong and on top of that I was driving with expired temp plates for over 2 weeks because it took them over 6 weeks to get my plates, they also promised me new tires and took 2 months to “order this certain size”
I'm surprised this place is in business. Every single aspect of this place is unprofessional. Please DO NOT take your business here. Trust me
