My daughter just left Halfway Motors Mazda in her “new to her” car. This car buying experience was one of the, if not the, best experiences we’ve had purchasing a vehicle. Very happy with the purchase of our 2025 Mazda3 Sport. Everything went perfectly smooth and at no point did we feel pressured into buying unwanted options. Our salesperson Lawrence was extremely helpful and was available to answer questions we had anytime of the day.

I went in for heating issues with my 2024 CX-5, which is still under warranty. I only get heat inside the vehicle while driving. When the car is idling with the heat on, the engine coolant temperature drops to 50°C and the vehicle blows cold air. According to the service manager, this is completely normal. Additionally, the coolant temperature does not reach normal operating temperature (around 80°C on the highway and about 60°C during city driving). The service manager also stated that this is normal. He mentioned that he also drives a CX-5 and that his vehicle behaves the same way. When I pointed out that, based on my experience, it seems like the thermostat may be stuck open, they told me the thermostat had been tested and was operating normally. However, when I said I was willing to pay for the thermostat and labor myself, they were suddenly more than happy to replace it. The service manager even said he could get me an aftermarket thermostat the same day (since they did not have one in stock). Because I had to leave Thunder Bay that day, I ultimately decided not to replace it.
