# Summary The dealership receives consistently high praise for friendly, honest staff and smooth purchase experiences, though some customers report significant post-sale service issues including defective vehicle conditions at delivery, improper charges, vehicle damage during service, and poor communication regarding warranty repairs. Customer satisfaction appears heavily dependent on individual staff members and the sales phase, with notable concerns raised about accountability and service quality after the initial transaction.

My family bought a 2024 Ioniq 5 from Hawkesbury Hyundai (January 15, 2026). We had the car delivered to Lucknow, ON. So we did not negotiate the price and purchased the vehicle in cash. Because we were buying the vehicle without being able to see it in person, we had extensive correspondence (see attached email) and assurances from Gerlando Manzone (sales person) that the vehicle would be delivered with no mechanical or electrical issues. The attached CPO shows that Hawkesbury Hyundai CERTIFIED that it was free of any issues. 1000km in, I rolled down the back right window of the vehicle and the window would not roll back up (as if the window is misaligned/issue with motor). This was the first time I operated the window since receiving the car. This should have been caught and fixed in the CPO (which boasts a 195 point inspection) as this is a safety issue. Attached is a video of the window (turn up the volume, you can hear the window motor whining as it is seized trying to operate the window up). Under what standards did this car get SAFETY certified? Someone or a pet could have really gotten hurt as we could not close the window!! Not to mention this is also a huge security issue with the window stuck open. Called Hawkesbury Hyundai and talked to Sales Manager Mark MacVicar to ask how this happened and his only response was that it is covered under warranty. He was dismissive/abrupt and did not take any accountability or show any customer service. Very different from their attitude when they were selling this vehicle to our family (which they knew had mechanical issues before delivering, lied about and did not fix). These dishonest behaviours/business practices are unacceptable and unethical. Especially when hardworking Canadians are spending their hard earned money at this dealership. If Gerlando/Mark MacVicar represent this dealership and Hyundai principles...then Hyundai's CPO and safety culture are worthless. Beware when buying from this dealership. If all staff at Hawkesbury Hyundai are of the character of Gerlando/Mark MacVicar, then they will cheat you to get your sale and will not take accountability after you point out the clear safety issues with the newly CPOed car that you just received from them. It’s gaslighting at its finest. We will be pursuing further action. This is just a warning to customers wanting to purchase from this dealership. I hope that their lack of safety standards, accountability, integrity, and dishonesty does not represent Hyundai Canada as a whole. This has been a truly nightmarish experience.

Had such a great experience at the dealership 🙌 The team really took the time to listen to what we wanted and needed, no pressure at all. Everything felt easy, honest, and smooth from start to finish. Definitely made the whole process way less stressful 🚗✨

Just bought a 2025 Kona EV Limited from Hawkesbury Hyundai and the service was just incredible. Our salesman, Gerlando Manzone offered impeccable service and an EV vehicle knowledge like I've rarely seen ! Our financing and transaction manager, Carl Parent, gave us an amazing service, answering our questions fast and with a lot of warmth and competence. With Gerlando and Carl, it really felt like our business was and is still important to them even after the car was delivered to me at work, since my work week was crazy. I would recommend without hesitation. I'll get back here later to give some feedback as for the after purchase services, but if they are as good as the transaction's experience, we're golden !

I purchased a 2024 Santa Fe Calligraphy, and within the first year, I experienced all of the following: 1. Improper Charges for Recall Work I was charged $170 for the removal of bolts required to complete a recall repair. Recall related work should never incur additional fees. 2. Vehicle Damage During Service After an oil change, my vehicle was returned with dents, scratches, and a damaged rim—none of which were present beforehand. Another service advisor confirmed the damage, yet the team was prepared to return the vehicle to me in that condition. 3. Unnecessary Maintenance Recommendation I received a call recommending a $400 brake service on a 9 month old vehicle that was only in for an oil change. No clear explanation was provided for why this costly service was supposedly required. 4. Repeated Battery Issues on a New Vehicle Within 11 months, my 12V battery failed three times. Despite the vehicle being under warranty, I was asked to pay $79 for them to inspect it. They later admitted the battery was defective and replaced it—yet three months later, the same issue occurred. I was told “sometimes it takes 8 days to detect a draw,” which is an unacceptable response for a new vehicle. 5. Lack of Communication and Unprofessional Advice After my second battery issue, the driver-seat mechanism stopped working. I was given a courtesy vehicle while mine was being checked. Two weeks passed with zero updates. Only after 10 business days did someone call—just to request that I return the courtesy vehicle because the part was back ordered. When I asked what would happen if my seat failed completely during a road trip, I was told: “Well, you have towing service.” Completely unprofessional and unacceptable. 6. Repeated Failure to Notify Me When My Vehicle Was Ready On multiple occasions, I was never contacted when my vehicle was ready for pickup, forcing me to follow up myself or show up at the end of the day to be addressed disrespectfully 7. Following my seat mechanism not working, I was advised that the part to repair the seat was 3 weeks back order. The service advisor recommended that I use my vehicle, while it was not repaired, mentioning that the courtesy vehicle that they lend to clients was to help them out and that they needed the courtesy vehicle back.
