The dealership receives praise for its sales staff, particularly for their professionalism, knowledge, and customer service during the purchasing process, though some customers have experienced significant issues with service delivery and follow-through on agreed-upon terms. Multiple buyers report problems with unfulfilled promises regarding vehicle preparation, accessories, and service commitments, with complaints ranging from incomplete detailing work to unresolved contractual obligations that persist for extended periods.
I had an excellent experience purchasing my new car at Hawkesbury Mazda, thanks to Michael. He was professional, knowledgeable, and never made me feel pressured. Michael took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for, answered all my questions honestly, and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. I’m extremely happy with my new vehicle and would highly recommend Michael to anyone looking for a great car-buying experience.
Great service from all those who worked with us from sales(Michael and Carl) to delivery with Peggy. we really appreciated the review of features she provided (very thorough and helpful with all our questions). Congrats Hawkesbury Mazda on providing a great purchasing experience!
Last November (2025) my wife purchased a low km used 2022 MX5. The sales team were ok (not good just ok). The car had a lot of paint issues like damage from bird droppings and a scratch on the left fender etc. The sales team told us that the car had to be delivered at new condition which is a strict Mazda policy since Toyota is now owner of Mazda. This included a multi point inspection including new oil and filter change. During the sales process we agreed that the car would be buffed at their expense. I live about an hour away from Hawkesbury and I took a day off from work to get it done with an appointment. I dropped the car off and walked over to the Tim's across the street to pass the time. 3 hours later I walked back to the the dealership only to find our car was still parked outside! When I spoke to the service guy, (who made me wait 15 minutes before even looking at me) he said that they could not do the job and another appointment needed to be booked. I was not pleased and I mentioned this to the sales manager. I told him I would find a detail shop on my own and send them the bill, he refused this option. So, I had the car detailed by a professional where I live at a cost of $899.00. I said to myself I would not write any bad or good reviews for this dealership and just let this slide. But yesterday in preparation for the summer driving season I changed my oil and filter (got a genuine Mazda filter from another dealership) only to notice that Hawkesbury Mazda never changed the oil in November because the oil filter installed in the car was a Moto-master filter (Canadian tire brand) and that was the last straw! This dealership should be closed or heavily verified by Mazda Canada. I have officially made a complaint to Mazda Canada with a copy of our sales contract and pictures of the dirty used Canadian tire oil filter. If you purchase a vehicle from them, make sure you get what you bargained for before taking delivery of your vehicle.
--TLDR: I would recommend either avoid this dealership entirely, or do an inspection of the vehicle and walk away if everything isn't the exact what you expected, do not accept concessions. -- I purchased a Mazda cx-50 in November. The entire sales process was above and beyond and Michael was fantastic. Unfortunately that was where service ended. Upon seeing the car two mistakes were made - Winter tires were not provided on rims as agreed. - Crossbars were not provided and installed as agreed. I had taken time off work and driven from out of town, they were aware of this. We agreed on a partial discount on the rims (which only covers the cost of cheap steel rims and did not cover installation cost which i didn't factor in at the time but agreed to, so that is on me) They said they would get me the crossbars, and I clarified that driving into Hawkesbury from out of town was not an option for me. Between then and now there was significant back and forth due to me being out of the country for work (during which the sales person was accommodating and helpful) the sales person and I agreed on a path forward. Management then overrode this request, I called and talked and asked for an explanation and we agreed on another solution, which I asked for in an email. That was 46 days ago. I have emailed, called and texted multiple times since then and they refuse to send me an email, always being told (paraphrase not exact quote) "we are just about to do that" or "I want X to send it but they are out of office today". I have escalated this now to financing as they are void of contract. I believe the intention is to "wear me out" and just never finish their portion of the contract. Otherwise the car is fine, I just wish I had access to the seats which are permanently up to store the snowboard gear that is supposed to be on the roof.
Alain in the service dept is amazing. Very helpful, takes the time to answer questions and handled the servicing of my older car efficiently. Would highly recommend!
