Hellmans had my truck for 2 weeks. I live 2 hours away from the dealership. Took it in on a Monday. Wasn’t gotten into the detail shop until Thursday, then gotta order parts then got the wrong parts. Called every day to check and was never given the truth about the status of the truck. Lie after lie.i understand the auto business well. Was in it for 10 years. Worst customer experience i have ever had.Spent 2k and the brand new tire sensors were out and the light back on in about 10 minutes after leaving Delta. Giant waste of time and money, and I thought they would show me a little love seeing as I bought the truck from them. No discount no nothing. Didn’t even complete the work properly. I will Drive to Denver before I bring my truck back Update… Tim Hellman .. I called to complain on Friday morning to Mike and still nobody has bothered to call me back. Or I could have explained all of this. They all went out within 10 minutes of leaving your shop. Took it to a local shop in Gunnison today. Just paid 300 MORE dollars to have new tpms sensors put in. If you actually put in 4 new sensors you would or should have known they were completely dead. Would not communicate with anything. I have them in my hand right now. The 4 new ones I just physically watched be installed worked like a champ. So my 600 bucks parts and labor for you guys to not fix the problem was a waste.

I had a shifting issue with my Cadillac CTS (the transmission in my 09 Cadillac CTS is identical to the Chevy unit) which Hellman agreed to take a look at. I'm a mechanic and had already run an OBD2 scan on the car, which revealed nothing and needed a "Tech2" scanner to diagnose the issue further, so I called the Helman Service Dept. assuming that since they're a GM dealer, they would have the more sophisticated GM "Tech 2" scanner, which is the go-to for transmission shifting issues as well as everything else computer-related on an 09 GM car. Amazingly, after the fact, I was told they did not have a tech2 reader and had merely duplicated what I had already done. When I complained I'd just spent $150 for nothing, the Helman service rep tried to talk me into paying for a transmission flush and new filter, which I'd told them from the get-go, I had just done. I never thought to ask if they had the equipment to do the job properly. After calling other GM dealers, I found they, as I expected, did have Tech2 scanner capability and could have done the job properly. Under these circumstances, why would you schedule, then charge, someone to do a job you couldn't properly do? So I asked for a refund. I'm still waiting, and after a month have heard nothing. As a retired ex-garage owner and auto-shop teacher, I find this to be unacceptable. Stories like this are why dealerships in general have sadly become to be known as "stealerships."

I was moving all the way from Hawaii to Colorado and looking to buy a truck ASAP, and I contacted a lot of dealers who weren't interested or didn't take me seriously because of the distance I think. He was extremely friendly, a very straight shooter, and helped work it out so I could come test drive the truck and drive it off the lot that day. I picked it up with ease on my way across country! The atmosphere was refreshingly low-pressure, and they were straightforward and easy to work with throughout the entire process. I never felt rushed or overwhelmed, which is rare when buying a car.
