# Summary The dealership receives sharply divided reviews, with multiple customers reporting undisclosed mechanical issues, unrepaired promised work, and unresponsive management after purchase, while other customers praise the staff's professionalism and quality service. The negative experiences describe vehicles with significant safety concerns that were sold without proper disclosure or warranty coverage, contrasting starkly with positive accounts of free repairs and exceptional customer service.
Bought a f-350 here in January. The sales person I dealt with told me that he would do the brakes, install new belts, new battery, and alternater. Also that he would have any check engine lights addressed and dealt with. He did not. I took the truck home after he told me all this was done. Brakes felt terrible and were clearly not done. Not a month after buying it, the headlights wouldn't turn on, I figured out that there was a rotted wiring harness shorting the headlight wires. About $500 for the fix. Purge valve went bad shortly after, which is replaced for about $75. Front end is making a lot of noise so I take it to a dealership and up on the lift I see it has a broken front axle and tie rod, the front hubs are seized and all four wheels are seized onto the hubs. Also the parking brake doesnt actually disengage when you pull the lever, so that pad is probably down to bare metal ruining the rotor even more. So now its very very apparent that the brakes were not done, and hometown automotive lied about doing the work. The truck also has parking sensors missing that I was told would be replaced. Now the truck and an emissions leak and bad thermostat. And as if the problems never end it also has a bad tpms sensor in the rear. These people are scammers and deserve the worst. Steer clear at all cost.
Bought a Chevy Sonic from there less than a month ago! When I got home the chin was dragging on the passenger side! After I had my mechanic do a full inspection on the car I brought it back. I requested my money back and they refused! They fixed the chin and tightened the dome cover gasket that was pouring out oil! Told me they changed it and they didn't. Undercarriage of the car is rotted out and it's going to cost me $500. to have it scraped down and undercoated! Guy at the desk is useless and rude! They gave me a sticker for a car that is unsafe to be on the road . Buyer beware! I did my own car fax because he said they don't due them! Update.... Drove 817 miles and check engine light came on. Went to AutoZone to have the computer code tested. Was told it's the catalytic converter and also the codes were cleared recently! They gave me an appointment next Tuesday to check it!. The warranty is 30 days or 1200 miles! I was told that I can not wait for the car! They said they would give me a ride to the pizza place down the road to wait for my car! Also was told that they read my review in which is nothing but the truth! I have requested a call back from the owner Mike and never received a call. Maybe he is busy! I've requested the $6500 back numerous times within the 30 day warranty! What I paid and what my bill of sale says are two different numbers! Update... I just called again and requested to speak with Mike the owner. I was told he wasn't in again! She said she would leave him another message. Still no call back from the owner. I spoke with someone about the catalytic converter. Told me that it's not under warranty but they will charge me to replace it. Only drove 817 miles when the check engine light came on and AutoZone said the codes were cleared recently.... I am a woman, over 60 and disabled! This is how they treat people. I will do what I need to do at this point! STAY AWAY FROM HOMETOWN AUTO IN HOLLISTON MASSACHUSETTS. They take your money, don't uphold their warranty and put a totally different amount on the bill of sale! Mike called me today and left a voicemail saying not to contact his business and my appointment has been cancelled! So they didn't repair the car which was still under warranty! And refused to give me back the money $6500 that I paid for the car! I have pictures of the car that stated what he was asking for the car! Gave me a bill of sale for $4000. No way to run a business!
Terrific staff and service.. I appreciate the people who helped me more then I could explain in this post.. I'm grateful for their professionalism... and the good-hearted nature of a family run business shines at hometown automotive for sure..
Hometown is the best! I needed some minor body work done on my car and they did the job for free. So nice and they did a great job. Thank you Hometown!
After a streak of horrible luck, my car needed body work and other things. Hometown e patience was top notch from start to finish. From the office to the finished product. My car looks like new and the whole process was easy. I couldn’t recommend a better shop for all kinds of automotive needs. Sales, towing, detailing, repairs, body work. Try do it all with class and old fashioned customer service!!!
