# Summary The dealership receives consistently high praise for sales staff knowledge, accommodating customer service, and efficient financing processes, with multiple customers highlighting positive personal interactions and smooth purchasing experiences. However, some customers have reported serious concerns regarding warranty service denials, communication responsiveness from parts departments, and alleged retaliation for asserting consumer rights.
Great to deal with, made the buying / trade in process process super easy for some coming from out of town. Clear communication, excellent trade value and they had the exact truck I was looking for. I told them what day and time I'd be rolling into town and they had no problem meeting that requirment. They also had no problem doing the few things I wanted done to it so I wouldn't have to deal with it when I got home. Props to Terry and Bryanna!
We had a great experience at Hoppers; our salesperson Chantel was amazing and very knowledgeable. She was a delight to deal with and very kind. Jason was efficient, kind and very easy to deal with through financing. Would strongly recommend Hoppers to anyone looking for a new car. Would definitely use them again.
I would NEVER recommend this dealership. 🚨 Consumer Alert – Hopper Buick GMC & Used Cars 🚨 I am sharing my experience as a paying customer under GMC’s 7-year “bumper-to-bumper” warranty. I purchased an $80,000 truck and paid thousands for this extended warranty. My front bumper and light bezzels began peeling — an issue any reasonable person would expect to be covered. It's a known issue. Instead of repairing it, Hopper GMC refused service and informed me I was no longer welcome to have my truck serviced there, even for something as basic as an oil change. But I only found out I was blacklisted when I went to sort out another issue. This happened after I stated that I would be looking further into my rights as a consumer — something I am legally entitled to do. As someone who has worked in dealerships for over a decade, I have never seen a client “blacklisted” for requesting warranty work. Several local body shops and other dealerships have already expressed disbelief that this type of refusal is happening, and have openly questioned the legitimacy of this GMC warranty coverage. THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PART. This is not regular rock chip wear. This is not about making trouble. I have a serious medical condition and simply want my vehicle repaired in accordance with the warranty I paid for. All customers have a right to receive the services they purchased WITHOUT retaliation for asserting their rights. I will continue to post updates weekly until this matter is resolved in a reasonable and professional manner. Consumers deserve transparency. Warranties should be honoured. I don't like bullies and I feel like you have added stress where it need not be. I paid to not have stress right now! 🤣😅 PS I looked into a private shop and was quoted $2200 to install another- that also had rock chips starting! Clearly you need to manufacture parts GMC. What are you doing?? Hopper GMC, I invite you to respond. In the meantime FYI: 1️⃣ Ontario Consumer Protection Act, 2002 •Prohibits unfair practices, which include refusing to provide services covered under a warranty or penalizing you for asserting your rights. •If the dealer sold you a warranty and then won’t honour it for a covered defect, that can be a violation. •Also protects against “reprisal” — a business cannot deny you service for exercising a legal right (like requesting warranty work or saying you’ll contact the Ministry or a lawyer). 2️⃣ Sale of Goods Act (Ontario) •Requires that goods sold must be fit for the purpose intended and of merchantable quality. •Even outside the express warranty, peeling paint or a defective bumper on a newer, high-value vehicle may be considered a breach of implied warranty.
Although the John C. Hopper dealership has been a staple in North Bay area for decades, our recent experience with staff falls far short of professional. After waiting weeks for a new car door and enquiring about the delay, the parts department employee proved to be aloof to say the least and "...couldn't guarantee the manager would return our call". Either business is so good that J.C.H. can turn business away or arrogance and indifference are expected to be overlooked. Not happening with this consumer!
I purchased a used 2021 Acadia over the weekend and the service here was absolutely amazing I highly recommend buying a vehicle here. The owner was fantastic the vehicle I had purchased ended up having some unforeseen problems And I had contacted the owner about that issues and they were resolved at the very next day. Polite, professional family oriented Fantastic business. I would recommend this dealership to anybody who asked
