# Summary The dealership receives high praise from most customers for friendly, attentive salespeople who expedite purchases and work creatively to meet buyers' needs. However, serious service department failures—including prolonged communication breakdowns, lost vehicle keys, missing documents, mysterious items found in vehicles, and lack of follow-through on repairs—have resulted in severe dissatisfaction among other customers.

I had such a wonderful experience and purchasing my 1st Hyundai. I want to thank my sales person (Baylor Cannon) for assisting me. This young man was very friendly, down to earth and a bright light in what was a horrible week for me...very attentive, patient and really paid attention to what I wanted and needed. So within 2 days , I got to drive off in my vehicle, which I am loving!

So yesterday, I visited Hyundai Montgomery to buy a Elantra N and Mr. Son down there helped me from trading my old car all the way to financing so quickly. Even with my challenging credits and requested trading value being little high on them, he went above and beyond to get what I needed without myself having to ask him for it. If you just take sometime to look through the inventory beforehand and telling him what you want, he’d do anything to make something work as quickly as possible.

Update: It’s been four months since they moved their dealership and left my car at a deserted location with a dead battery and four flat tires. They never informed me about this. Even after meeting Cody in person, I still haven’t received any diagnostic paperwork, a quote, or a resolution. My car is currently parked in the empty lot of their old dealership. Cody lied and promised to provide service and contact the warranty office, but he never did! To prove this, I reached out to the warranty office myself and was told that everything would be covered as long as Cody called them and provided a diagnostic. This is terrible service! I left my Hyundai at Hyundai of Montgomery on November 5, and it’s been well over three months with no written diagnosis, no inspection report, no cost quote, and no clear explanation of what warranty was filed or why. My attempts to contact the dealership have been met with silence: texts go unanswered, emails ignored, calls go to voicemail, and in-person visits to the service desk are futile because no one is available to assist. In early December I contacted Hyundai corporate for help; they encountered the same communication issues—no one answered calls, texts, or emails. It wasn’t until mid-January that corporate managed to reach the dealership, but I still have no official diagnosis, no written status, and no concrete plan. I now have to take my car to another dealership to get fixed, hoping not to repeat this process. The car has sat for months with no visible progress, and I was told in January—verbal only—that the brake module was the issue, but there has never been any written diagnosis or inspection report provided to me. I am left with a potentially unsafe vehicle and ongoing frustration over the lack of basic information and timely service. It’s also worth noting that Hyundai’s factory presence in Alabama makes this experience reflect on Hyundai as a brand, not just a single dealership. Given this pattern of poor service and communication, I would shelf consideration of Hyundai manufacturing options and would avoid Hyundai altogether until they can restore basic service standards nationwide. My recommendation: avoid Hyundai of Montgomery until they can provide transparent communication, a written diagnosis report, a detailed diagnostic (if/when provided), a warranty filing copy, and a concrete timeline for the repair. This experience has been a complete waste of time and money.

I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding a deeply upsetting and unacceptable experience with the Hyundai Montgomery dealership. I have previously provided photos and details of the incident, but I would like to restate everything for clarity and to request further action. On October 9, I dropped off my vehicle at Hyundai Montgomery for service. When I came back to pick it up on October 16 at 8:50 a.m., the staff could not find my car key. I waited for about an hour, which caused me to miss my 10 a.m. appointment at Caliber Collision. When I finally opened my car door, I was shocked — there was a terrible odor inside. I found two opened Sprite cans left in the front seat area, and in the back seat there was a bowl of instant noodles with spilled soup and an empty drink bottle. It was obvious that someone had been inside my vehicle eating and possibly sleeping, as the driver’s seat was fully reclined. I immediately reported this to an employee, who called the manager. The manager commented that it might have been a homeless person who got into the car, which was extremely disturbing to hear. They said they would perform a “deep cleaning,” so I agreed to leave the vehicle again, trying to handle the situation calmly. However, when I came back around 2:30 p.m., I discovered that the car had not been properly cleaned at all. I also noticed that coins and the coin holder from the glove box were missing. When I spoke to the same employee again, he apologized and promised to clean it again — forcing me to leave the vehicle for a second time. The next day, I returned to pick up my car once more. It was immediately clear that it had only been wiped quickly, not deep-cleaned. Stains and odor were still present. Even worse, when I checked the compartment where I had kept my insurance card and renewed vehicle registration, I found that the registration document was missing. When I confronted the employee, he asked me to “wait a moment,” disappeared for about 20 minutes, and came back with an unclear excuse, mentioning that a staff member had been fired after lunch. None of this made any sense, and I still received no direct communication or apology from a manager. It has now been over two weeks, and despite reporting everything, no one from Hyundai Montgomery has contacted me or provided any explanation or resolution. I feel completely ignored and disrespected. To this day, I have no idea who entered my car, who went through my belongings, or who caused the damage and loss. Every time I drive my vehicle, I am reminded of this incident, which has caused me serious emotional distress, time loss, and financial damage. This situation is absolutely unacceptable, and I am demanding an immediate and formal investigation by Hyundai’s regional management. I also request a written explanation and fair compensation for the damages, losses, and emotional suffering caused by this incident.
