The dealership receives praise from satisfied customers who highlight exceptional sales staff, patient service, and competitive pricing that contrasts favorably with typical dealership experiences. However, negative reviews cite serious concerns including unauthorized repairs, service department errors, unprofessional management responses, and alleged discriminatory practices and misleading advertising.
We had a great experience with this dealership from start to finish. The manager, Trey Moss, was incredibly helpful and responsive over email for about a week, making the whole process smooth and stress-free before we even stepped in. When we came in, the salesperson we worked with, Andrew Belden, was just as impressive. He really listened to what we wanted, never talked over us, and didn’t raise any concerns or pressure at any point. It truly felt like he was focused on helping us rather than just making a sale. We actually went in planning to buy a specific car, but after test-driving another option, we ended up going with a bigger vehicle—lol. Throughout that whole process, they were extremely patient as we figured things out, answered all our questions, and made sure we felt confident in our decision without ever rushing us. Overall, the team gave us their best, and it showed. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a straightforward, respectful, and flexible car-buying experience.
A big thank you to the team at James Wood Hyundai for the professional way they handled our shopping experience. We were treated with respect and given all the information we were looking for, without the typical games we'd been getting at other dealerships in the big city. The added bonus was the best pricing on the new Hyundai Tucson we were shopping for. I'd encourage anyone looking for a new or pre-owned vehicle to reach out to this dealership — you'll be glad you did.
Sales, service, and body shop must be separated. This is a service review. My opinion and experiences have drastically changed since my first visit. The service here has declined and continues to decline. An unauthorized repair was performed on one of our vehicles and after an investigation that we had to initiate and included pulling call recordings, we still had to pay for the repair because “the work was already done” and a discount was applied to the total. This was not a small cost and was nearly $1,000. A standard recall resulted in my car not starting afterwards and being asked if there was something wrong with the car prior to me bringing it in for the recall. Ultimately found they made the error and it was corrected. An employee told me they would not allow anyone there to work on their car!!!! Someone damaged my window tint and when I brought it to the manager’s attention immediately before even leaving the dealership was told 1) I do this all the time with my seat belt implying that it was not a big deal or that I had done it and 2) to look over the entire car on the spot and document any other damages. The level of unprofessionalism is unbelievable and unacceptable.
If you’re looking for someone who delivers top‑tier service every single time, look no further than Dewayne Plumlee. We’ve returned to him three times in just six months because he makes every interaction effortless and enjoyable. He listens, he responds quickly, and he always goes the extra mile. Dewayne is not just a great salesman—he’s a genuinely good guy who makes the entire experience better.
Another illegal dealership. Advertising services, then not providing them. They discriminate against federal law enforcement by offering discounts for law enforcement, but only if you work for state or local. They low-ball trade-in offers. They also claim they are unable to provide ANY vehicles under $30,000 OTD, yet are excited to advertise that they have those vehicles. Refusal to process application to banks if you don’t buy an expensive car. They’re trying to scam people that don’t know any better. Go to another dealership.
