# Summary The dealership receives polarized reviews, with some customers praising smooth sales and service experiences, while others report significant concerns about service department practices, including lengthy appointment times, diagnostic inefficiencies, and alleged warranty-related upselling tactics. Multiple reviews allege problematic customer service, unresolved mechanical issues, and lack of accountability in addressing recurring vehicle problems.

Please read full post SHADY SERVICE DEPARTMENT In my opinion the service department is running some kind of scam with warranty by getting you to come in more often than need to. I bought a brand new 2024 tiguan which should have had a 3 year mvi inspection sticker yet it only had a 2 year sticker so that means you have you come in more often. Yes they will tell you its a free mvi but yet they can now charge vw canada for there service time more often. Another time I went in for a recall for something and then of course they find something else that needs to be fixed and they don't have the part so you'll have to come back in again. So they can now charge vw canada for their service times. That's how they get paid for there services under warranty. Once I went in for a service appointment that I was told would be around 1 hour I got my car back 6 hours later. Everything was fine the day of purchase they promise lots of stuff, like free first oil and free annual mvi. The day of my first oil change I had to fight for it, they tried to charge me $277 for a oil change. Everytime I was there the sales man Dan Maclellan walked by me in the waiting area and never once spoke to me. Everyone is your friend there on purchase day when you have a check in your hand! Sketchy stuff going on there ___________________________________________ Follow up review regarding owners response - tell me why did my brand new car have a 2 year sticker on it instead of a 3 year sticker. If it was a mistake by your mechanic you better let him know it cost you a customer. -my first appointment was for a oil change only. I was not there for a scheduled interval maintenance appointment it was just a basic oil change. That you tried to charge $277. Yes I got it for free after I had to fight for it. -and the free for life mvi is a sales gimmick -and why does a 1 hour appointment take me 6 hours to get my car back -and why wouldn't a salesman address a client of his. He walked by me 3 times and never spoke to me. Sketchy service department

Just picked up my second vehicle from Jim Sampson Motors and couldn’t be happier. The whole process was super relaxed and easy, no pressure at all. Gerald in sales made everything straightforward, and Gordie had the licensing side of things handled quickly. Great experience all around – I’ll definitely be back when it’s time for the next one.

Jim Sampson service scanned my car for default "Check engine" more than 2 hours. In other service station in Sydney it took 25 minutes. Jim Sampson service didn't find the problem. In the other station they gave me the default number and explained what to do next. Jim Sampson service asked me to pay them for their service and didn't solve my issue. Other station scanned my car with no money and gave me the information what to do next. The problem is with solenoids in transmission and it's in my Lubrico coverage. I bought my used car in Jim Sampson with additional 3 years Lubrico coverage. So all repairs should be performed by official representative Lubrico in town. And unfortunately it's Jim Sampson dealership in Sydney. Jim Sampson just didn't perform anything on my car, saying first: "it's snow and to hard for my transmission", second: "it's not a Volkswagen go to the other dealership", third: "we don't see any issues" etc. I'm really disappointed with their service.

We recently had our first experience with Jim Sampson Volkswagen for repairs to our Jetta and couldn’t be happier with the smooth process. We live 2 hours away which makes it hard to get the vehicle there for a full day warranty repair. We ultimately decided to drop the vehicle off on the weekend and pick it up the following weekend. They explained where to drop the keys after hours, called to let us know it completed in kept us in the loop through the process. They made sure the vehicle was in an easy to access location for when we picked it up on the weekend and even mailed us the keys. It was such a smooth process and we’ll definitely be back! Thanks again for the great service!

In addition to the issues below. It looks like this dealership had deleted my last feedback. Here it is again. I have become aware of a troubling situation involving Jim Sampson Volkswagen in Sydney that raises concerns about potential negligence and predatory behavior. An elderly acquaintance of mine, aged 71, purchased a new vehicle from this dealership and opted for an extended warranty. Unfortunately, at just 60,000 kilometers, a cooling problem surfaced, prompting multiple repair attempts over the following seven years. Despite these efforts, the issue persisted. Upon reaching 200,000 kilometers, and after the warranty had expired, the dealership charged $2000 for another repair. Regrettably, the problem remained unresolved, echoing the initial issue encountered at 60,000 kilometers. This pattern of events suggests a troubling lack of accountability and customer care on the part of the dealership. Currently, an investigation is underway, and legal action is being pursued to address this matter appropriately.
