We’ve been customers of Jim Shorkey Toyota for over 5 years, and they’ve consistently impressed us. We used to go to other dealerships but often ran into issues with their service or sales teams. Here, the service department has always been outstanding, and the sales team is never pushy or difficult to work with. My husband purchased his Tacoma through our fantastic salesman, Jake Termin, and he recently helped me buy my new Toyota Camry Nightshade. Jake was wonderful throughout the entire process—providing regular updates, answering questions, and making sure we got exactly what we wanted. He is genuinely one of the easiest salespeople to work with. Maria in the finance department was equally amazing. Went for a $20 travel inspection, told them about an additional problem I had, and they checked it out for free. They didn’t try to upsell me on anything. They were honest, and I believe that you pay a premium for honesty and good service. They even sent a video of my car for my convenience; although I prefer to see the cars issues in person, some may prefer the convenience. Sure you can go to a backstreet mechanic, but if you want to know that the job will get done right, go to the people who made your car. I also got a set of tires from them, and although pricey, they came out to be ~$650 for 15in, including balancing, they are all seasons and will last me for at least a few years. If you look for quality, come here. If you look for cheap, go elsewhere. Simple as that. But if you go cheap the job might not be done right, so be careful! I personally recommend going to the dealer for any and all safety issues, as if anything happens, they will be liable, and can accommodate you much more than a backstreet mechanic could, as they have much more money. Holding a big company vs small company accountable is something you will have to weigh anytime you have to take those risks. Toyota has tools specially made for their cars for diagnostic and safety testing. You are less likely to break down after their inspection, than if you get your car inspected by Joe Shmo down the street. Please weigh the options. Be safe, drive well, and don’t make a decision that you'll regret when deciding who works your vehicle.
