# Summary This dealership receives mixed reviews, with customers praising individual salespeople for their helpfulness and transparency in vehicle purchases, while consistently criticizing the service department for unclear estimates, unnecessary add-ons, long wait times, and aggressive upselling tactics. Though some managers have stepped in to resolve complaints professionally, the overall service experience is marked by trust issues and pricing concerns that significantly detract from the positive sales interactions.
I had a VERY uncomfortable and disappointing service experience here with my 2017 Hyundai Tucson. While I was waiting at the dealership, I was first told over the phone that the recommended work would be over $3,000. I asked for an itemized list, but the list I received was very vague and did not clearly break down labor, parts, or exactly how each service would be performed. It included items such as coolant flush, throttle body service, fuel injector cleaning, transmission fluid, brake fluid, cabin filter, rear pads/rotors, and differential fluid. Because I am not an expert in car maintenance, I tried to remove several items that seemed unnecessary and approved only what I understood from that list. However, when the work was finished and I went to pay, I noticed an additional “Fuel Service” package for $245.76 on the final invoice. This package included a Seasonal Service Kit, Engine Service Kit, and Synthetic R134 Boost with Stop Leak. This was not on the original list I received, and I did not knowingly approve it. When I asked about it, the service advisor, DANIEL SUKHRA, first tried to explain that it was part of one of the original items. After I questioned it further, he said it had been added by mistake. Then he made a confusing argument that because another originally quoted item ended up being charged for less than the original quote, I might still owe the difference. That made me even more concerned because the original estimate and the final invoice did not match clearly. I asked to speak with a manager. The manager was nice, kind, and respectful. He reviewed the invoice, acknowledged that I had not been properly notified about that added package, apologized, and refunded the $245.76 plus tax. He also gave me an additional $100 refund for my time and the inconvenience. I appreciated the way he handled that part. However, I still left feeling that the overall service process was not transparent. The initial itemized list was vague, the final invoice included an additional service package that I had not clearly approved, and the explanation from the service advisor changed after I questioned it. Even though the manager was professional and helpful, this experience made me lose trust in the way the service recommendations and approvals were handled. I would strongly advise future customers to ask for a written estimate with a clear labor and parts breakdown, decline any add-on service kits unless fully explained, and carefully compare the original estimate with the final invoice before paying.
I bought my Kona SEL conv at Koeppel Hyundai and I must say meeting Ahmed the sales person was a blessing, He went above and beyond to help me get lease deal on the kona, I had went to 3 deffrent hyundai delars, besides giving me insane lease payments they werent even able to get me approved with bank for the lease, said my credit is not high enouph, trued to get me into finance whuch i didnt want. Than offered me lease at almost $700 monthly payment that i couldnt afford. Than a friend of my reccamanded me to Ahmed who i am very thankful for. He was stright foward from the begining. Gave me great lease deal and also got me approved with out any BS.. Thank you so much Ahmed.
Just experienced a whole new perspective of the tire changing experience. I’ve been using Koeppel Hyundai as my service center for four years. I have a warranty to replace my tires and rims when necessary. I have used the service a few times in the past four years and the experiences have not been good. The customer service that their employees provide specifically Daniel and Pablo, is not acceptable. they will try to tell you that your rim is not covered under the insurance policy that I paid extra for when I purchased my vehicle, when it absolutely is because I have paperwork stating that. They also attempted to tell me that my car needed service repairs such as a tranny lube that were not necessary at the time when my car only has 15,000 miles. this time when I came to repair my tire and rim they had me waiting at the service center for over five hours stating they were waiting for approval when they never even called. I left my tire with them under the assumption that they were going to take care of it by Monday. I never heard anything from them on Monday and when I reached out today on Tuesday, they told me they just came to to pick it up and send it out to repair it and they would have a back later today. From the time I dropped off my tire to the time they fixed it on my vehicle took five days. I think that is completely unacceptable. on a positive note the service manager and the assistant manager Tony and Huey stepped in and assisted me in finally getting my tire and rim.
Purchased Palisades at this site. Mahfu A. Chowdhury was very helpful. He made sure every function and options are guided and set up. I feel so ready to drive Hyundai. I never thought I would drive confident with a new car, knowing that I can rely on him. They sell other brands as well. I traveled to several locations like Long Island and New Jersey.. but this very spot in Queens was a good choice to purchase a car. Make sure to check on this location. I recommend only when I can put my words.. so go for it and look for him. He introduces himself as Ahmed.
Very poor customer service. I made an appointment through their app/website just to find out the day of that the service department was closed. Why would the app allow me to make an appointment if the service department was going to be closed. Then, I made an appointment for another day just for an oil change. They said it will take me 2 hrs to wait there because it’s Saturday and there is not a lot of people there. Lady called me to say that my car needs new breaks and resurface the rotors, change the air cabin filter and it will cost 2200 dollars. What kind of pricing is that? Then since I didn’t go for it, she had me waiting for another hour just to find out my car was ready for a long time but didn’t want to release the car yet. When I asked to speak to supervisor , she said ti her supervisor he is not doing anything in his car so he has to wait. Unbelievable!!!! As I have said before, dealers can make a good impression in the sales department but in the service department they don’t care much. Hopefully the owner reads this and investigates these cases. I wouldn’t buy a car again in this place because of their service department.
