We came into LaFontaine based off a vehicle we had seen online and was interested in purchasing. We had asked the salesman to hold the car for us to come in and test drive it. We had expressed our extreme interest multiple times. We set up an appointment to come test out the car and drive it. When the day came to make the hour long drive to the dealership, we arrive and take it for a test drive and were ready to talk numbers. Right when we exit the vehicle from test driving, we become aware of the fact that the management had sold the car before we even arrived. The car salesmen was unaware of this happening which is why we were still advised to make the drive. Our salesmen, Dammon, was amazing. He was accommodating and very knowledgeable on the car itself. There just seems to be issues with the management communicating to their employees. This wasn’t the first time Dammon expressed to me that the management kept him in the dark about an issue. Furthermore, the service department “inspected and serviced” the car prior to putting it on the market. When I went to check if the service had been done, it was done, but done incorrectly; the breaks were on backwards, the coolant fluid was low, and the AC needed to be recharged. Overall, we had a great experience with the salesmen Dammon but, because of a lack of communication from management, we wasted time, hopes, and gas to come check out a vehicle they had already sold.

After having a terrible experience at another Mazda dealership, working with LaFontaine Mazda of Kalamazoo was a breath of fresh air. On 5/28, I found a vehicle I was interested in and submitted an inquiry through their website. I received a call back shortly afterward. I explained that I lived about two hours away, and before long I was speaking with Sales Manager Whitni Reid. Whitni immediately stood out because of her professionalism, responsiveness, and transparency. Not only did she offer me a price that was lower than the quotes I had received from two other dealerships, but she also assured me that the entire purchase could be completed remotely and that the vehicle would be delivered to my home at no additional cost. I told Whitni that I would have my down payment ready the next day, 5/29. The process was incredibly smooth from start to finish, and my new vehicle was delivered to my house on 6/1 exactly as promised. Whitni went above and beyond to make sure everything was handled efficiently and stress-free. She kept me informed throughout the process and made purchasing a vehicle remotely easier than any in-person dealership experience I've ever had.
