# Service Department Summary The service department receives mixed feedback, with some customers praising efficient service, transparent communication through digital reports, and complimentary amenities like winter undercarriage washes. However, multiple customers report significant concerns including diagnostic failures, poor communication about parts ordering and warranty policies, pricing that exceeds competitors, and a critical incident involving an overfilled oil change that caused vehicle damage.
I had specifically mentioned the light is not working. They came back telling they couldn’t find any issues. I had to then take to Christian brothers to fix the lights. The quality of the service is going down. Not seeing any value to continue paying for the premium and not getting any value out of it.
Love having them service my Toyota. They do only what's necessary, and have a good notification system when is complete. I can also look at the report on my phone. They also offer free undercarriage washes in winter with the salt roads.
Unorganized and Unprofessional to say the least! I scheduled a repair appointment over a week ago. I show up this morning to drop my vehicle off for the repair and the guy says "oh, this is a specialty part, we would need you to prepay for the part before we can order it and repair the vehicle." Then he says it will be a few day before the part comes in. THEN WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THAT WHEN I WAS SCHEDULEING THE APPOINTMENT?! Idiots! What kind of sense does that make? If I need to order in advance of a repair TELL ME AT THE TIME WE SCHEDULE THE REPAIR, SO I DON'T SHOW UP THE DAY OF ONLY TO BE TOLD WE CAN'T REPAIR THE VEHICLE BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T ORDER THE PART. This service advisor is acting like he couldn't care less about any of this either. like, "not my problem buddy." Clearly there is a serious lack of communication and organization going on here. Not to mention that their prices are always the highest in the area, even high than the other Toyota dealership repair shop. Lesson learned here. I will never take another one of my vehicles here. Stay away from this place!
Took my Highlander in for an oil change and have the tailgate door checked out since it would not open. I was sold by Landers when I bought the car an extended warranty. After waiting there for a couple of hours the warranty company denied the claim for diagnostic service since all that was required was an adjustment to a sensor and they would only pay if parts had to replaced. Shame on me for being so stupid to buy a scam warranty policy. Shame on Landers for pushing this scam. Moral of this story. Don't fall for the extended warranty scam when buying a vehicle at Landers!
So I just got my 2024 Rav 4 Hybrid's oil changed here under warranty. I left and about 8 miles down the road smoke was pouring from the tail pipe. I pulled over and called them. They sent a wrecker, While I was waiting I checked the dip stick and the oil mark was about 3" higher, than the HIGH mark on the stick!!!!! They must have put double the oil in it. I won't know tomorrow when they open what they plan to do but there are serious problems that may not surface right away from the damage they did to my car. I suspect they will try and just drain out the extra and say sorry......... Update after I hear what they will do. Update. Landers admitted their mistake. Tech forgot to drain out oil and added new. They wrote in the car's history in their computer the mistake and gave me a print out copy of the mistake. Hopefully down the road if the car shows any problems pertaining to this mistake, Toyota will fix it.
