# Summary The dealership receives polarized feedback, with customers praising the sales department for transparent pricing, knowledgeable staff, and strong communication, while the service department receives mixed reviews ranging from exceptional professionalism and efficiency to complaints about unreliable communication, incomplete work, and lack of follow-up. Recent experiences suggest inconsistency in service quality, with some customers willing to drive significant distances for reliable work while others report billing discrepancies, unperformed services, and unresolved issues spanning weeks or months.
Take your vehicle to one of the other Subaru service departments in the area. I've used this location for years but it's just terrible these days. Not only are they horribly unreliable, but just blatantly dishonest too. They quoted me lower prices over the phone to get my business then surprised me with much higher price tag at pickup. They didn't care that someone had misquoted me, that was not their issue. Then they performed services that were not discussed with me prior to drop off. They were supposed to call me after the multi-point inspection prior to performing any additional work. Not only did they not call me at that time, they didn't even call me when my vehicle was ready! I called for 3 business days in a row never getting someone to answer or return my voicemail. Finally i got a hold of someone else in the building that told me my vehicle had been ready for several days! The service manager promised he'd follow up with the technician that worked my ticket when he worked next and they'd call me and and see what else they could do for me. Shockingly, that NEVER HAPPENED! I've bought several vehicles from this location but won't be going back to any Lou Fusz location for sales or service after this. Simply ridiculous to have this terrible level of customer service.
I was on my way from North Carolina to Montana when the AC stopped working on my 2023 Ascent. My husband was able to get me an appointment at a Subaru dealership along my route. I am super thankful that he landed me at Lou Fusz Subaru. I arrived early for my appointment and they got me in right away. A rock had gone through my lower, front grill and punctured my condenser. The entire crew was professional and sympathetic to my situation. They not only welcomed me, my sister-in-law and my Bernese Mountain Dog into the waiting area, but they also told us where we could get a great BBQ lunch as we waited. I had to make it to Hays, KS to stay on my route schedule, which had reservations that could not be changed. The tech, J. Groenemann, did an outstanding job and got me out of there within 3 and half hours. I'm pretty sure he worked through his lunch hour, and he got me out of there in a very timely manner. Much thanks to the crew at Lou Fusz Subaru that was working 2 August 2023!
Up front pricing - no haggling - top dollar for trade-in - knowledgable staff - and great communication. It all made for a seamless transaction (across states, btw) and a very happy new subaru owner. I wish I'd discovered Lou Fusz years ago!
I live in the city but will drive 40 minutes here (bypassing 3 other Subaru dealerships) because of the level of service. The parts and service departments are 100% spot on with their work. As a person growing up fixing my own cars, they don't shy away from talking shops, explaining new features, and why the "old fixes" don't work anymore. I also love the fact that they aren't condescending. They don't treat you like some bothersome problem for them to solve. Always professional, happy, reasonably fast, and they enjoy a good joke. Highly recommend going here (for service and parts)
I didn't have any problems with the service department until recently. They were always quick before. Took them 3 days to complete a 60,000 mile service, and they still didn't actually finish it - they told me they were missing spark plugs and would call when they came in. They still haven't called. It's been a month. When I picked up my vehicle from that time, a Red Bull was left in the cup holder. One month later, the hinge cover for the driver seat fell off my seat. When I went to look what was wrong, the seat is torn in a spot close by, the cover was cracked, and plastic screw securing it had been crushed. I don't have proof, but my belief is that an employee broke it while climbing in and out, tried to bash it back in, and called it a day. The part is only 30 dollars, but I won't go back to this Subaru dealership for service.
