# Summary The dealership receives consistently high praise for its customer service, with multiple customers highlighting the professionalism and willingness to negotiate of staff members like Toby and Wyatt Slater, who prioritize customer satisfaction and building long-term relationships. However, one customer reported a negative experience at the Ash Flat location, citing concerns about the condition of a used vehicle (worn tires and low oil) and inadequate pre-sale maintenance, which resulted in unexpected expenses after purchase.

I recently purchased my 2025 Chevrolet Equinox from Mark Martin Chevrolet GMC, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. My salesperson, Toby, was absolutely amazing to work with. He was professional, knowledgeable, and never pushy, which made the entire car-buying process smooth and stress-free. Toby took the time to walk me through all the features of my new Equinox, answered all of my questions, and made sure I felt confident every step of the way. If you’re looking for a reliable Chevy or GMC dealership in Batesville, AR with great customer service, I highly recommend asking for Toby. The dealership had a great selection of vehicles, and the entire process was quick, transparent, and hassle-free. I love my new Equinox and truly appreciate the level of care and attention I received. I’ll definitely be back and will be recommending Mark Martin Chevrolet GMC to friends and family! I drove over an hour to get this truck because there were none like it in my town or closer by!

There are not many EV chargers around here and this one is my FAVORITE place to charge of anywhere. Never have I met nicer people. The charger is off brand and a bit confusing but someone came out the minute we pulled up and helped us through the process, offered us a place to walk our dogs, use the restroom and get a soft drink. When I am in the market for a new car. I will definitely come back to this genuine friendly dealership. They also have some fun race cars inside to take a look at.

I guess I should have paid more attention to the reviews before committing in my head to buy a car from the Ash Flat location. Most people aren't fans of dealerships for various reasons, this location lived up to the typical "stealership" hype and left a bad taste in my mouth at the end of the day. I had been shopping for a fun work car to save gas instead of driving my 3/4 ton truck 40 minutes to work each day. I had decided that a Mustang Ecoboost with a 6 spd manual would fit the bill nicely. Wanting an actual manual transmission limited my options on used cars, but they had a low mileage 2020 with the premium interior and 3 pedals on the floor. I called and asked if it was still available for a test drive since the ad had been up for a while, I let them know I was about 1.5 hrs away and I could be there the next day mid morning. I called them before I left and they said it was up front waiting for me. I spoke to the sales manager (Pete Gibson) and a salesman who were waiting outside when I pulled up. I looked the car over and noted curb rash on the passenger rear wheel and that the tires didn't have much tread left on them before I took off for a drive. They also shared the Carfax with us and were up front about previous damage to the driver rear quarter which had been repaired by a previous dealer. Car seemed to run fine after I knocked the dust off my shifting skills. We pulled back into the lot and started talking numbers. They were firm on the price and didn't want to budge. I told them what cash I had for a down payment, my credit is excellent, no issues getting financing, model buyer! I again expressed concerns that the tires were shot, the salesman repeatedly told me that's how Pirellis are made and they just don't have much tread on them. I said they are worn down to the wear indicators and the rear tires aren't in much better shape, it really needs a whole new set. I almost walked out, he spoke to the finance manager and they agreed to drop $400 off the purchase price to account for a new set of front tires. I agreed to purchase since that was better than nothing and I obviously wanted the car. After getting the car home and giving it a proper cleaning, I noticed the sidewall of the curbed rear tire was gouged down to the cords. I don't know if I missed that on the initial inspection or if it opened up after driving, but it wasn't safe to drive on. The car was also a quart low on oil (I should have checked that before leaving the lot, I know). Long story short, I had to purchase 4 new tires and an oil change since I didn't know when it had been done last. When buying from a larger named dealer you expect at least basic maintenance things to be addressed like tires, brakes, oil, wipers, etc., that was not the case with this transaction. They didn't know much about the history of the car other than they bought it from auction and apparently just wanted to make a quick buck, I wouldn't recommend traveling far to buy from them, I doubt I set foot back on their lot unless I absolutely have to for warranty issues that can't be taken care of elsewhere.

Wyatt Slater was awesome! It was the best experience I’ve ever had purchasing a vehicle. If you’re in the market for a vehicle go see him, you won’t be disappointed. 😊

I went to Taylor Grubaugh today to look at a vehicle I saw on their website. I've purchased a vehicle from them before, so I figured this should be an easy process. I was wrong. I drove the vehicle and liked it. I felt it would meet the needs of my wife and I, so we moved into the office to do the business part. I expressed i was looking for a few things specifically to make the deal. 1) $500 off the sticker 2) a good interest rate, because I have excellent credit 3) to be sitting in the dealership for less than 90 minutes. All reasonable requests I figured. $500 is virtually nothing in the big picture of an auto sale. I've bought many, many vehicles in my life and always get at least $500 off- especially as a repeat customer. The salesman came back in and said they couldn't take any money off and gave me a speech about how their prices were non negotiable and the sticker price was the actual price. I to speak to the finance manager, who gave me the same speech. . I pointed out there was one very similar vehicle, with fewer miles, listed for $1000 less, just an hour away. Non negotiable pricing he repeated- that's our policy. Next up was one of the Grubaughs personally. Now we're getting somewhere I thought. This guy would be willing to deal with me right? Wrong. Same speech. Non negotiable pricing. Sticker price is the price. I explained how I had purchased here before and came to them first because of that and if they weren't willing to work with me a bit, that would put a damper on any future purchases from this dealership. No change. Same response. I couldn't believe that this dealership would let this sale go, and all future sales with me and my family, over $500. Shocking. So, we went to lunch and I called Mark Martin and inquired about a similar vehicle. I told the salesman there about the experience I was currently having at Grubaugh. I explained the 3 things I was looking for. I asked him if the requests I made were unreasonable. His response- nothing unreasonable at all. He said "come see me and I would be happy to work with you and earn your business." I drove the hour to Mark Martin and im so glad I did. I located the car i was interested in on the lot and began my inspection. Within 2 minutes the salesman i spoke to over the phone was out on the lot greeting me with a handshake and the keys for the vehicle so I could test drive it if I wanted to. With my inspection completed, I was ready for the test drive. I decided I would like to purchase the vehicle, if we could put a deal together. We went inside to do business. I explained the 3 things I was looking for from them to buy the vehicle today, and made a solid offer $1000 below the sticker price. Toby, the salesman, went to his manager and returned in 3 minutes and said "how about $600 off sticker?" "Sold" I said and we shook hands on the deal. We worked out the down payment, the financing, and other details. My total time at this dealership was 60 minutes from offer to driving home. Negotiating the deal, doing paperwork, fueling up the car, washing the car, working out the financing and payments. Thats just about record time! Best of all I felt like my business was actually WANTED. I was treated like my sale mattered to them- and not just this sale, but future sales too. That made me all warm and fuzzy. Next time im looking for a vehicle, I will call Toby at Mark Martin. Why? Because we now have a buyer/seller relationship. He, and other staff members, treated me with kindness and respect. He heard my requests to make the sale and he accommodated me. He was able to work with me on the price, get me the interest rate and term I wanted, and get me the payment I wanted. On the same day I had the most difficult car buying experience of my life at Grubaugh- and the easiest car buying experience of my life at Mark Martin in Ash Flat. Guess who will be my dealership from now on? Rock on Mark Martin of Ash Flat! Ask for Toby- great to work with. Total Rockstar salesman and management knows how to do business!
