For a first time buyer the experience I had with my parents and my salesgirl was amazing!! Raini did such an incredible job and made me fall in love with my new 2026 Mazda Cx-30. I didn’t think I was going home with a new car that day but I absolutely did all thanks to her and their finance manager Griffen. We bought a 2018 Ford Escape from McCurley Chevrolet in March. At the time of signing, everything was perfect and we were assured that the vehicle was even given a McCurley Certified 360 inspection. A week later, the car started having shifting issues; it was struggling to go into 2nd and 3rd gears and was making a sound under the hood. So, we brought it back and explained the issues, they told us McCurley Mazda did the initial inspections and to bring it over there. So, we did. We ended up having to leave it there because no one could tell us what was wrong. We didn't hear anything for 2 weeks, so we called and they said they still didn't know anything but they thought it was the timing chain. We hasn't heard anything again for another week. So, we called and they said no one there knew what was going on and they were taking it to McCurley Ford. It stayed another 2 weeks there, with no updates, except to call us out of the blue one day to let us know the guy working on it would be absent from work that day. So, about a week later, they called and said it was done. They replaced the timing chain. We picked it up, brought it home, and it was good for another week. Now, it is doing the same thing AGAIN, that we initially brought it in for. Jerking, struggling to go into 2nd and 3rd gears, there is a ticking under the hood, and the driver's side door is struggling to open and close. They kept the car through the entire warranty period, but since this is the same issue we brought it in for, we shouldn't have any financial obligations, anyway. So, I submitted a contact form and when I didn't hear anything back for a week, I called. I was assured it would be escalated and someone would call me back. Here we are, another week later and we still have not heard from anyone. To say we are livid is an understatement. Almost 14k for a car that has been giving us nothing but problems, and with an issue that points straight to transmission problems, at that. I believe our car was purposely kept through our warranty period and that they knew it was a transmission issue. As I said before, we shouldn't be obligated to any financial burden to repair this car, anyway, since we initially brought it in during the warranty period and the same problem we brought it in for is persisting. I almost want my 3k down-payment back so I can go elsewhere. I wanted to give these dealerships the benefit of the doubt and give them a chance to rectify the situation before writing a bad 1-star review, but it seems our problem does does not matter, so here is the negative 1-star review. My suggestion is to go elsewhere if you are in the market for a vehicle.
