In a time when poor service seems to be the norm, I feel compelled to share both a disappointing and an outstanding experience. I purchased a used 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD AT4X from Mangino GMC in Ballston Spa. During the sale, I discussed my towing needs—specifically that I have a fifth-wheel camper. Unfortunately, I failed to verify that the truck was equipped with the proper hitch setup. That’s on me, and I take responsibility for not confirming it before purchase. That said, when I returned to the dealership looking for help sourcing parts and scheduling installation, they refused to assist and directed me elsewhere. Even after I purchased the necessary components myself and simply asked for an installation quote, they declined again. In contrast, my local dealer, McGee Chevrolet in Greenwich, delivered exceptional service. I stopped in with the parts and spoke with the service manager, Sid. He and his technician were knowledgeable, straightforward, and eager to help. They clearly explained the installation process, identified additional parts needed, and provided a fair quote. Scheduling was easy and convenient. The work was completed professionally, efficiently, and even came in under budget. The entire experience was seamless. My only regret is not purchasing my truck from McGee Chevrolet. This level of customer service will absolutely influence where I—and my family—go for future purchases and service. My sincere thanks to Sid and his team—job well done.
