I recently purchased a 2026 Jeep Cherokee from McGovern Jeep Dodge Ram, and the entire experience—from my first visit through delivery—was outstanding. I started shopping back in February, before the Cherokee was even available on dealer lots. I met Patrick to submit my insurance and sign paperwork while the vehicle was being prepped. The next day, the car was ready—and he even offered to deliver it to my office nearby. At delivery, Patrick walked me through the features that weren’t immediately intuitive and gave me the option to explore the simpler ones on my own, which was exactly what I preferred. Buying a car can be stressful, but Patrick, along with the sales and finance teams, made the entire process smooth and completely stress-free. Our experience with McGovern Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of Acton in Newton was extremely frustrating and disappointing. We signed paperwork for a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Limited in black with a specific VIN listed. We were told that first thing the next morning they would contact the other dealership to secure the vehicle for us. After not hearing anything, I had to personally call and ask what was going on and when we would be getting the vehicle. That is when we were told the other dealership was “working on another deal” for that vehicle and that they would now try to locate another one elsewhere. This was surprising, since we had already signed paperwork tied to that VIN. From that point forward, we were kept waiting for almost two weeks with repeated reassurances that they were working on finding the exact vehicle. During this time, they were fully aware that our current lease was ending. After nearly two weeks of delays, my husband went in person to get clear answers. Instead of sitting down and honoring the original agreed numbers, the manager, Robert, informed him that the only options available were: • Another 2025 model — but at a higher monthly payment than what we signed for • Or a 2026 model — also at a significantly higher payment When my husband questioned this, he was essentially told that if he did not like those options, he could go elsewhere and find something different at another dealership. So we did. Another dealership was able to help us immediately, secure the vehicle we wanted, honor fair numbers, and even provided a model with more features and a higher MSRP — without playing games or changing terms after the fact. That alone shows the issue was not “inventory,” but how this situation was handled. If the vehicle was not secured, we should have been told immediately — not kept waiting for nearly two weeks while lease programs changed and our lease-end deadline approached. Customers deserve transparency, honesty, and proactive communication — especially when signing paperwork tied to a specific VIN. We strongly encourage future customers to do thorough research and explore other dealerships before committing here. Very disappointing experience
