# Summary The service department receives consistent praise for professionalism, communication, and quality repairs, with customers noting exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. However, the sales department and some service experiences have drawn criticism regarding pricing competitiveness and the resolution of complex technical issues, with at least one customer reporting poor communication and unresolved concerns that required outside intervention.
I recently took my truck here for repairs/ body work. George was phenomenal to deal with. He kept us informed throughout the time process and communicated very well. He made sure to have my truck detailed (interior and exterior) before I picked it up- which I thought was above and beyond. Overall it was a top tier experience.
Service was great. Sales horrible. I brought my 2021 GLB in to have a sidewivew mirror replaced. While I waited I looked at the cars and considered trading my almost paid vehicle in for a newer model. I spoke with a salesperson he showed me 2025 off loaner program glc300 suv. The price monthly for a lease would have hit me for $883.62 and the car had 4,380 miles. We haggled about leaving a deposit i didn't. However I left feeling confused. This is not first mercedes transaction but would have been my 6th. But this is not my dealership either I have worked mercedes of Manhattan corporate headquarters for all my past desls. When I returned to my office I made a phone call spoke with a personal sale rep for in Manhattan Mercedes. Was given numbers for a 2026 that ironically just shipped in and was at port in Baltimore. We went over the number which $100+ dollars less. I picked up my brand new 2026 GLC with 14 miles the following week and with bank approval finalized numbers were $300 less... monthly.
I was an out of my hometown emergency breakdown and was lucky to find these guys. They were compassionate, professional and friendly. They navigated the tricky path with my warranty co and completed my repair as quickly as possible. Love the work they did, my car is running great! Super pleased. Even though they are out of town for me, I would make the drive for their services again! A+
They did a great job handling my repairs on my sprinter van. Melanie did a fantastic job keeping me informed and updated on the repairs. I got super lucky that they could accommodate a sprinter high roof because apparently not every MB repair shop can. I also know some MB mechanics are garbage so I’m glad these guys were good. I had a five hour drive home after picking up the van and it didn’t fall apart on the road so that’s good. Really appreciate the shuttle pick up at the airport. It was great talking with the shuttle driver who was an older gentleman I believe his name was John.
I do not recommend Mercedes-Benz of Syracuse based on my experience. I was a customer there for about five years because I believed taking my Mercedes to the dealership would mean the best care, workmanship, and accountability. Unfortunately, this experience proved the opposite. If you are someone who genuinely cares about your car and assumes the dealership is the safest place for a Mercedes, I would seriously reconsider that assumption here. Based on my experience, I would recommend Cantech Automotive instead. They were far more professional, listened carefully, treated my Mercedes with genuine care, and were actually able to identify and fix an issue Mercedes-Benz of Syracuse missed. My 2020 GLC developed a driver-side wind/whistle noise after driver-side window/body-related work performed by Mercedes-Benz of Syracuse. I brought the car back multiple times for the same unresolved issue. In February, the concern was handled as a window/module issue, and I paid out of pocket for a window switch/module replacement. However, the repair order only stated that the module/window operation tested properly afterward. It did not clearly state that the actual wind-noise concern was test-driven and verified as resolved. When I tested the vehicle after that repair, the same noise was still there. After that, the vehicle remained with Mercedes-Benz of Syracuse for this continuing issue for almost three months. Communication was poor, updates were limited, and I repeatedly had to follow up. I was told multiple people drove the vehicle and could not duplicate the noise. At the same time, they performed additional work in the same area, including door adjustment, driver-side windshield reseal, air/water leak testing, and replacement of a driver window guide. If there was truly no issue, I do not understand why the vehicle was kept for so long or why multiple repair attempts were made. I also demonstrated a clear physical difference at the driver-side window seal. On the driver-side window, paper could be pulled/slid out from the closed window/seal area. On the passenger side and rear windows, the paper was pinched tightly and could not be removed the same way. Mercedes-Benz of Syracuse dismissed it by saying it was not a Mercedes-recognized test. I understand it may not be an official factory test, but it still showed a clear and repeatable difference between the driver-side window and the other windows after their driver-side window/body work. Eventually, they told me they could no longer spend additional time on the concern and asked me to pick up the vehicle. I picked it up under protest because I do not agree that the driver-side wind/whistle noise or window sealing/glass seating concern has been resolved. To make matters worse, after picking up the vehicle, I noticed the driver-front Burmester speaker sounded muffled and was not working properly. This speaker had no issue before the dealer opened/worked inside the driver-side door/window area. I took it to Cantech Automotive, and they found that the driver-side front speaker cable was not properly connected. Once the cable was reconnected, the speaker worked again. In my experience, Mercedes-Benz of Syracuse wasted a significant amount of my time, failed to resolve the original concern, returned the vehicle with an additional issue, and did not provide the level of communication, workmanship, or accountability I expected from a Mercedes-Benz dealership. For complicated or detail-sensitive work, I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion from a reputable independent shop.
