I am writing to share my recent experience at your service department on April 24, 2026, which was, regrettably, my first time needing to write a review. I took my 2021 truck in to address an issue where the vehicle would hesitate and jerk forward when accelerating after starting up. Upon arrival for my 8 AM appointment, I was informed of a recall for the fuel injector flow rate reprogramming, which I agreed to have addressed at the same time, understanding it might add an hour to the service. At 8:28 AM, I was told my truck was ready. The diagnosis provided was that the issue was "normal transmission behavior" and related to the clutch needing to fill on first shift, as it drains when the vehicle is off. I was informed that the mechanic experienced the same issue with his own vehicle. Despite my repeated attempts to explain that this did not seem like normal behavior, and receiving the response that I was mistaken, I decided to seek a second opinion. On April 28, 2026, I took my truck to Backer Chevy in Allegan. They kindly provided me with a loaner vehicle to facilitate my workday. Later that afternoon, I received a call confirming that there was indeed an issue with my truck. Baker Chevy confirmed a harsh takeoff and shuddering during a test drive. Further investigation revealed the need for a new valve body and torque converter, all of which will be covered under warranty Given this experience, I will now be taking all of my business to Baker Chevy in Allegan. Their staff was respectful and committed to addressing my vehicle’s issues effectively. Thank you for taking the time to consider my feedback. These guys really seem to have their stuff together. I had a transmission leak on my Blazer. They checked it over and ordered parts ahead of time (while giving me my vehicle back to use as it was a small leak). I brought it back on the scheduled date, expecting to be out of a car for at least a few days, and it was completed in a day and a half. I'm in Service, and I know it isn't easy to coordinate fast turn-arounds like this, and I am very pleased how quick it went. Thank you guys for an awesome job - Very impressive!

I went and bought a truck from them back in October of 25. The process of going in to look at the truck was great. Everyone was courteous and kind. Test drive went good. Got the truck a few days later (had to get insurance). I had it towed to them a couple if times, once back in November 19th for a check engine light flashing. Had it towed, they found nothing wrong. Light flashed a few more times. Had it towed again May 30th because it wouldn't go over 30mph. They still found nothing wrong with it, this time charging me the $140 for the diagnostic fee. Picked it up June 3rd, didn't have the truck for even 45 minutes, started having problems again. Towed it to a Pepboys, this time the engine light was fully on. Pep found 7 different codes and a shift solenoid / a valve stuck open in my transmission. Had it towed to a different closer Chevrolet dealership so I could get a 3rd opinion. That dealership found metal fragments in my transmission! That's a weird way of saying nothing is wrong. Now I wait for that dealership to tell me what is covered specifically so I can figure out what money I need to pull out of thin air to fix. Won't be getting another vehicle from this dealership.

Made an appointment. Got right in the next day. Didn’t take long to do my oil change at all and great service also. Keep up the great work midway Chevy.
