# Summary The dealership receives strong praise from multiple customers for exceptional sales staff and service responsiveness, with standout experiences highlighted by knowledgeable salespeople and smooth purchasing processes. However, negative reviews cite unfulfilled promises, poor follow-up on committed repairs, inadequate pre-sale vehicle inspections, and unsatisfactory handling of warranty claims, suggesting inconsistent service quality across departments.

I arrived at Pearson Mazda under significant stress after a traumatic experience with my previous vehicle—a 2017 Honda HR-V whose transmission failed at 89,000 miles. After an unsuccessful attempt to replace the transmission due to an unreliable mechanic, I ultimately had no choice but to purchase a new car. As a result, I initially had little enthusiasm for the process. However, my experience quickly improved after meeting sales associate Phil Zblewski. He listened attentively to my situation, needs, and preferences, and efficiently guided me toward a vehicle I truly loved. Phil was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and supportive without ever applying pressure. He provided his direct contact information, promptly updated me on new arrivals, and answered all questions before and after the sale. He even encouraged me to take the 2025 Mazda CX-5 home overnight to ensure it met my expectations. Additionally, although I had already secured financing, his familiarity with my credit union made the process smooth and straightforward. After the purchase, I encountered an issue, but General Sales Managers, Mike Smith and Joey Devapalan ensured it was resolved to my complete satisfaction. The Financial Manager, Heidi Wajciechowski, and Business Manager, Mike Ezell, were also thorough and clear in reviewing optional add-ons and completing the paperwork. Overall, the atmosphere at Pearson Mazda was welcoming, professional, and supportive. I am sincerely grateful for the exceptional customer service I received throughout the entire process. Many Thanks! Sabrina

Avoid shopping here! I have not enjoyed the experience here in sales or service. Promises made during the sales process that were not honored, one was that I would get two fill ups on him. I showed up for a fill up and he laughed at me and said too much time had passed. The finance person submitted my paperwork for the wrong county. Service has been problematic each visit, but mostly this last one. My car is a year old and has 7700 miles on it and the sunroof exploded like a gunshot while I was on the interstate, a terrifying experience. This is a well documented issue with tempered glass sunroofs, not just a Mazda problem, but so many dealerships will cover the cost as it is not from any outside force when the hole goes upwards and clearly shows a pressurized glass issue, I also had no cars around me or overpass and mild temperature. I documented the hole and the shattered glass and then taped it up to drive home. When I went to Pearson I asked if they needed to see the photos and video I took so I can show them the glass was shooting upwards and they declined. They have refused to cover it and said after their inspection they determined it was an external issue. They never did an inspection because the hole and glass is still fully taped up just as I left it and they refused to see the images I took. I escalated to Mazda customer experience and they deferred the decision to the dealership. This should be a universal decision to repair a shattered sunroof through Mazda and not dependent on if you have a reliable and trustworthy dealership or not. Check online and you will see many Mazda customers who had their dealership cover this because it is a known issue! If you shop here they do not take care of you as a customer and have no interest in hoping you return.

Forever grateful for my car buying experience with Pearson Mazda! From start to finish, the process was smooth, stress-free, and actually enjoyable. My salesman, Joe Jackson, was phenomenal — knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely made me feel taken care of. He’s definitely your guy if you’re looking for a new car! Big shoutout to the finance team as well, especially finance manager Mike, for making everything easy to understand and helping make it happen. I truly appreciate the entire team and couldn’t be happier with my new car!

We purchased a used 2023 CX-9 here in August of 2025 at a fair price and noticed a few trim pieces/caps missing while test driving and looking things over. We went ahead with the purchase on the promise that the pieces would be replaced and they’d provide a detailing, and we could schedule both at the same time. I waited a couple weeks to hear that the parts came in but was never contacted. After several calls, and stopping at the dealership twice, I was able to schedule the appointment for everything. Sometime in these weeks we also noticed a trim piece under the car was loose and flapping around in the wind, and from photos it appears it was that way when we bought it. But we didn’t bother asking about this because of the scheduling hassle/delay already. The car is in for inspection now (May 2026) and the brake pads+rotors need replacing, which we suspected from them squeaking recently. I know we purchased a used vehicle and brakes are a component that wears, but if the brakes were this close to the end of their life (less than 8 months, and we don’t brake/drive aggressively) I’m surprised/disappointed they weren’t replaced before the sale. If you buy a used car here, be sure to take your time looking over everything and consider having another mechanic do so as well before purchase. And if it needs anything, be prepared to be the proactive one to follow up. This is our 3rd Mazda purchase, but the first from Pearson, and plan to find a different Mazda dealer for our next purchase. Edit: Thanks for the reply, Mike. The vehicle is my wife's daily driver, and her father owns an auto repair shop in Richmond. He's a state inspector and says the brakes won't pass currently. I don't think he's upselling us on unnecessary repairs

I had a blowout on I-295. I called Pearson Mazda informing them that my car would be towed there, so I could get new tires. They were extremely accommodating. I have always been happy with their service and this time was no different. Thank you.
