# Summary The dealership receives strong praise from most customers for exceptional sales service, patient staff, and fair pricing negotiations that make the purchasing experience smooth and enjoyable. However, one customer reported frustration with the service department's failure to perform a recommended tire rotation and subsequent refusal to cover the cost under warranty, resulting in poor follow-up communication.
STELLAR customer service from the first phone call, reviewing the options, completing financials, until I drove away. Due to an unfortunate rodent army my beloved Crosstrek was on life support. With a nationwide backlog on parts I was destined to put my mountain adventures on hold until Rich V and the rest of the Peninsula Subaru staff were able to facilitate purchase of a replacement. Everyone was extremely helpful and patient with my questions. I had talked to other dealerships who didn’t want to be bothered. My experience at Peninsula was the exact opposite. Well worth the drive!
The employees at Peninsula conducted themselves very professionally. Richard, Joe, and DJ made this purchasing experience go smoothly. We talked about price and they worked with me and applied a discount. With the discount applied I felt we had reached a fair number for the vehicle. I am enjoying driving my new WRX!
On December 9, 2025 I brought my crosstrek in for an oil change. When I got home I was surprised to see they did not rotate my tires. I pulled out the tire information /warranty brochure that came with my car and in it the information recommends a tire rotation when the car has between 5000-8000 miles. I called the service department and the young lady said she didn't know why it hadn't been done, but would get back to me within the week. By mid January I had not heard anything back, so I called to reschedule the tire rotation. At this time I was told the rotation would cost me @$27 plus taxes. I asked why there was a charge...The tires came on the car I bought at Peninsula Subaru. The tires (that were on the car) came with a warranty that specifically advises rotating the tires between 5000-8000 miles. The service representative said, no it wasn't covered and I would need to pay the cost myself. I did not schedule the service. Instead I drove to Gig Harbor Les Schwab tire center where they greeted me cheerfully, asked what I needed, and rotated my tires (within 35 minutes) at no charge...and I didn't buy the tires there! THAT is what customer service looks like. I am incredibly disappointed in Peninsula Subaru and their lack of care for the customer.
So I went into this dealership already having pretty much decided on a certain model (Crosstrek) and trim (Wilderness) to purchase but wanted to see and drive some other models. Ended up with Odin as our sales guy, he spent literally hours with us showing us various vehicles, test driving Outbacks, Foresters and Crosstreks. Was very patient, explained everything, answered questions. Bought the Crosstrek that day. Had to wait on the finance dude (Alec) as it was a very busy Saturday, but eventually got the paperwork completed. Everyone was friendly, courteous, the facility was airy, light and comfortable. Very good car-buying experience.
This is by far the best experience I've had at a dealership, from start to finish and all the in between! Nick Dionas was there to make sure we were taken care of and Richard, our salesman did exactly that! He was very knowledgeable on the vehicle and provided great service the entirety of our visit. Andrew helped finished strong filling out paperwork and signing the deal! Thank you Peninsula Subaru!
