Peters Motorcars

I bought a 1941 Cadillac from Pete himself and when him and I spoke he gave me a rundown of the car. I asked Pete some very specific questions about the car and he answered them all to my satisfaction. Fast forward to the car arriving in Florida and it was completely not in the condition that Pete described. 1. I asked Pete if the frame had any rust, Pete said none at all. The frame had rust and the paint was peeling because the brake booster was leaking brake fluid profusely. To the point I was afraid to drive the car. The brake lines themselves were totally rusted and would not come off with a wrench. The lines all need to be replaced. 2. Every item under the car is leaking. I asked Pete specifically if any of the drivetrain was leaking and he told me, minor leaks for a call this old. Nope. The differential, transmission, and engine (in multiple places) leak badly. The car sat in my warehouse for 5 days and the leaks were the size of a basketball. 3. The wiring under the hood literally went up in smoke and melted all the wires the minute we tried to start it and back it off the transport trailer. It seems the solenoid was bad. 4. There is a birds-nest of wiring under the dash and multiple switches that do nothing. This may have led to the melting of the wiring under the hood. There are many other issues with the car that was completely misrepresented and I would highly recommend that you get any car you are considering buying from Peter’s Motorcars inspected throughly before. Shame on me for trusting Pete thinking he was trustworthy because he is a dealer. Adding some pictures to see for yourself.
