# Summary The service department receives mixed feedback, with some customers praising staff members like Alex and Israel Cosio for their patience and straightforward service, while others report significant issues including unauthorized repairs with inflated charges, vehicle damage during service, poor communication, and illegal debit card surcharges. Negative experiences have left some customers frustrated with unresolved problems, lack of accountability, and extended vehicle holdups during dispute resolution.
Where to begin…we brought our 21 GMC Yukon in initially to get the key fob programmed on 13 April. After Two days the Technicians admitted they were unable to program the key and needed more time with the vehicle to get it resolved. Monday, 18 May we returned to get an alignment, multipoint inspection, and tires balanced and rotated. I asked for a rear brake inspection as I noticed uneven wear on the rear pads when performing maintenance so that was included in the ask. Additionally, I stated “if the pads are bad please go ahead and replace them. Today, three days later the dealership admitted they were still unable to program the Key but the rest of the service was complete. We authorized $248.47 of service for the rotate, balance, and alignment. When we arrived to pick up the vehicle our total was almost $1000!!! Unauthorized service outlined on a heavily modified work order was performed without approval and when I stated I would not pay 5 times the estimate for work I didn’t authorize I was told the service was already done. They did state they would “return my rotors to the vehicle and keep their parts” but they admitted they can’t prove 100% these are the rotors that came off the vehicle. Management (I guess you can call them that) was gone for the long holiday weekend and refused to communicate with me directly. They insisted on passing messages through their service advisor. Today, my vehicle is locked in their garage, we insisted on taking the keys until this is settled, and our vehicle is held hostage until someone with the authority to resolve the issue is available (maybe next Tuesday). I highly recommend seeking service elsewhere if you have a need or you risk a huge surprise when you return to pick up your vehicle. I can guarantee it won’t be done in their estimated time, you will have to argue with the dealership over unauthorized repairs and when presented with your “approval on a work order” you can expect a heavily modified document and a HUGE bill for service you didn’t ask for or need. Additionally, the old rotors were never measured, inspected, or found un fit for use. They just stacked an additional $400 for the bill and $100 for “trying again” to program the key. My wife is without a vehicle again for at least an additional 4-5 days over the holiday weekend, our truck is being held hostage until we pay the fees for unauthorized service, and everyone that can make a decision is on holiday. Poor service at its finest.
I personally had a good car buying experience. I really needed a vehicle that fit my needs and I was going to enjoy. Israel Cosio the gentlemen that help me do that gave me the opportunity to test drive as many trucks I needed until I found the one for me. He was patient with me as I had to stop by and go several times due to my work schedule. The finance department ended up giving me a better offer than my bank so I took them up on it. I was also able to trade in 2 vehicles and got reasonable offers on them as well. I opted for a 7 year unlimited mile warranty on bumper to bumper and power train which I thought was a good deal. There wasn’t much hassling back and forth, it was more a straight shoot just how I like it and I walked away with a Brand new GMC Sierra 3.0L Duramax blacked out package. I’m enjoying my new ride, Thank you Israel “Izzy” Cosio and your team !
Decided to start having my 2025 Buick Envista service here after having a great buying experience. I have taken my vehicle twice to this location. First time, was for the first oil change which took over two hours even though having a scheduled 8 AM appointment . I figured that was whatever and I blew it off. I then brought my car in due to the backup camera being faulty. They were unable to get the camera fixed that day due to the part, not being in stock. At the end of the visit, a large dent was on the back bumper of my car, right where they were working on the backup camera. They denied doing the dent when I came out shocked. I knew my car and knew that that dent was not there prior to the appointment. After looking on the cameras, they did realize that they were at fault with the dent. I had to call back several times to get a hold of Jared, the service Technician, I was working with to try to get my car scheduled in for not only the faulty camera, but also the damage that was caused by their service department. I finally was able to get a hold of him and with no apologies or concern for the matter I was able to get my appointment. When I arrive for my appointment, I said that I needed a ride to work as the car would be in the shop all day. I was driven by my service tech that I had trouble with previously , which was a very uncomfortable situation as I had had several upset situations rightfully so in my opinion. I received no updates all day long regarding the status of my car and/or when I would be able to get picked up from my place of work I had to call five different times to get a hold of someone one including a 15 minute wait on hold when I finally got a hold of Jared. He was very rude and abrupt and said “I told you I was gonna come pick you up“ even though he had no idea what time I got off work also claim that he had called and left me a message with when I had no missed calls and no messages left from any number. I am not a usual disgruntled customer as I work in healthcare and understand how difficult it is to work with people. Safe to say I will not be having my car serviced here again.
I recently visited Randy Curnow Buick GMC for an oil change and tire alignment. The total came to almost $300, which was already pricey. But what truly upset me was the additional surcharge for paying with my debit card. Important Fact: It is illegal in all 50 states, including Kansas, to impose a debit card surcharge. Under the federal Durbin Amendment of the Dodd-Frank Act, merchants are prohibited from adding extra fees to debit card transactions. This is a clear violation of consumer rights, and I’m extremely disappointed in the lack of transparency. Customers should not be penalized for their payment method—especially when it’s against federal law. I urge Randy Curnow Buick GMC to address and correct this practice immediately. I also encourage other customers to check their receipts carefully and be aware of their rights. Debit card surcharges are illegal—know your rights!
Alex in service is Amazing! Great service and patience !
