Salesman Jimmy was great. No bs, straight forward and efficient. Finance guy was the same, and super nice and made the deal even better. Super impressed on the professionalism of the whole staff. Wish more dealerships were like this. And I got a call a week later to check up on the vehicle and experience. I originally left a five-star review. Our sales experience was great, and we were happy with our Durango. However, within a hundred miles or so of owning the car, a flashing check engine light started appearing intermittently — P0301, cylinder 1 misfire. I took it to my local mechanic, who confirmed with a borescope that the intake camshaft was destroyed. I contacted Rouen. After several days of back and forth, their service department recommended replacing the PCV valve. There was no EVAP code, no multiple-cylinder misfire. When I asked them to confirm the camshaft damage directly, they said it was impossible without pulling the valve cover, a $2,000 service charge, to tell me what a borescope already told me. Rather than pay $6,000–$9,000 to repair a vehicle I'm still making payments on, I'm doing it myself. I am now underwater on the trade value of a vehicle that was sold to my family with critical engine damage. I understand that I purchased the vehicle "as-is," and I take responsibility for not catching this issue myself. However, there is a great deal of trust that I gave to Rouen with my family's hard earned money, and that trust was destroyed. I am discouraged by Rouen's "you bought it as-is, it's your problem now" response, but I am not surprised in today's world. Moral of the story: if you are buying a used car from this dealer, take the vehicle to be inspected by a third party before purchase.
