# Summary This dealership receives highly polarized reviews, with customers praising responsive service team members for quick turnarounds and attentive care, while others report serious complaints including vehicle defects, poor post-sale support, unresponsive staff, and unresolved safety issues that persist for years. The stark divide suggests inconsistent customer experiences, with satisfaction heavily dependent on which staff members are involved and whether customers encounter problems requiring dealership accountability.
I’m very disappointed with the quality of my recent service. The plastic door sills and step areas were left dirty and scuffed, as shown in the attached photos. This makes me question the overall attention to detail and value of the service. I expected my car to be returned clean, and it clearly was not. Won't recommend.
ZERO STARS – WARNING: UNSAFE VEHICLE & HORRIBLE SERVICE I purchased a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Overlander from Route 18 Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram (East Brunswick, NJ) on June 24, 2023, and it has been the worst car-buying experience of my life. Within days, I noticed serious safety issues. The salesman, Glen, immediately acknowledged the problem but did absolutely nothing to help. When I asked for the sales manager, he dismissed me, a busines card, and told me to “call the manufacturer.” That’s how their “customer service” works—push the problem away and walk off. When I contacted Jeep/Stellantis (the manufacturer), they were just as useless. They told me to take it to a service station. I’ve now been to over 7 Jeep service centers. Most refuse to work on hybrid vehicles or make you wait 3–4 months for an appointment. Two years later, nothing is fixed. The car is undrivable and unsafe, sitting like a death trap at the servise station waiting for a resolution. Here’s what’s wrong: A/C and Defrost Failure – After about 20–50 miles, the system stops cooling and blows only hot air. I can’t defog or defrost the windshield, which makes it impossible to drive safely in humid, rainy, or cold weather. Jeep even acknowledged a related issue under NHTSA Recall but they’ve refused to include my car or repair it. HUD Mirror Glare – The head-up display mirror was improperly installed, reflecting sunlight, streetlights, and headlights straight into my eyes. It’s blinding, distracting, and incredibly dangerous. Despite all this, the dealership and manufacturer keep saying “no problem found.” One Jeep rep even told me to “tint the windshield” as a solution! That’s how little they care about safety. I’ve been paying for a $72,000+ car that can’t be safely driven — plus insurance, storage, and loan payments — while both Route 18 and Jeep refuse to take responsibility. Their actions clearly violate warranty laws, lemon law protections, and basic human decency. They’ve shown zero accountability and total disregard for driver safety. If you value your money, time, and safety, do NOT buy from Route 18 Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram or trust FCA/Stellantis to stand behind their vehicles. You’ll be stuck in an endless cycle of “call the manufacturer,” “go to another service center,” and “no problem found.” This experience has been a nightmare. Buyers beware — this dealership sells defective vehicles and abandons customers the moment they drive off the lot.
This review is for prospective buyers. I recently purchased a used Dodge Truck here. The tire pressure monitoring system light was on after securing the sale. I was told by the salesman that it would go out. It never did. I started the drive home and stopped to get gas. The check engine light and fuel symbol came on. This was on a Saturday. I emailed the salesman that my truck needed to be checked out and the problem diagnosed. He said to bring it in. I called the service department to make an appointment and was told that it would need to be left there for a few days for diagnostics. I explained that I lived far. This didn't seem to matter and I also explained that the vehicle had just been purchased there. The service rep didn't seem to care about that either. I've never heard of diagnostics taking multiple days but can see another reviewer complained about the same challenge. I asked to speak with someone higher up. Upon doing so the guy accepted my explanation and stated they'd run diagnostics in a day vs a few. I brought it in and was told that the issue was the sending unit. I saw the salesman he mumbled some bs about the tire pressure sensors and kept walking. I didn't talk to him about the other issues as clearly it wouldn't get anywhere he didn't seem to care. When they tried to offer a few hundred dollars off the service to replaced the sending unit I went to a local shop for a second opinion. My local shop provided the same price that the dealership service department claimed to have so generously shaved off a few hundred dollars. I now have to pay out of pocket and pray something else doesn't go wrong. Another issue here we are almost a month later and noone bothered to tell me the tags were in. It's common for a dealership to call when tags arrive. Another shortcoming mentioned in another review. I also verbally told and emailed the sales rep multiple times to please mail the tags along with the trucks issues all of which have gone ignored. Shocker. I left a message to please mail my tags and registration as the dealership is too far. Either way due to the treatment I've received I don't wish to go back. I still have not received a response nor have I received my tags. The temps are going to expire. I'll reiterate this review is for buyers. After reading previous reviews and responses I see this dealership doesn't change. Take your money elsewhere.
I can’t express my gratitude enough to the service team! Truck had an issue on my way to work on a very important day. I expressed this to them and they brought me right away. Car required a program update and it was out in an hour. The compassion and empathy shown to me today deserved this phenomenal review. Great job and thank you!
Brought my 2019 grand Cherokee in for service - was helped by Denise. Mind you, she was the only person at this dealership who took the time to answer my inquiries, if it wasn’t for Denise, I would not have brought my car in for service. So that needs to be looked at with this dealer, they almost lost out on thousands of dollars of service by them not answering the phone. Denise was fabulous. She took the time to explain what my car needed and potentially will need as I approach 100k miles. I got a lot of service done. They even installed my aftermarket cross bars! All completed same day. Highly reccomend
