However, one customer reported a significantly negative experience involving undisclosed add-on fees and alleged deceptive sales tactics that resulted in a walkaway.
Seamus at Mazda Greenfield is the best! He made our visit so comfortable and fun with his personality and helpfulness. He was also super patient in our decision-making process, and we really felt prioritized. What stood out was how efficiently he worked, without ever making us feel pressured or like we weren’t getting a fair deal. Everything was super clear and upfront. If you want a great car-buying experience, go see Seamus!
Alfredo was great to work with! Easy going, and very knowledgeable about the cars. Great personality and overall just wonderful at his job. I absolutely love my new CX-50 and I didn’t even know I wanted the color I got until he brought it out. I’m very happy with my purchase. If you’re in the market for a new car, ask for Alfredo and he’ll send you home in the perfect vehicle for you!
It's okay to charge high prices. What is not okay is dishonesty. I saw a 23, ~70,000 mile Kia Tucson car advertised online for 18.8k. After a test drive, I asked for the total (OTD) price. The salesperson brought me back a sheet that had 18.8k (online price) + ~1.5k taxes and dealer fees (mostly okay) + 2k paint protection (salesman didn't ask me about the previously) + 1k some other protection package I didn't ask for. The total came out to 23k+. I asked the salesperson to remove the packages (I don't care about paint and minor repairs on a ruffed up Tucson, if they could fix the paint, why were there still scratches on it?). He went for a few minutes, came back and asked me if I'd like a 3.5k warrantee for 35,000 miles... that's better, but i still don't want it, I just want to buy this car for what was advertised. He came back and said there was "another interested party" who wanted the paint protection and so I would have to buy that. I walked. The car is still posted online, there was no "other party" (I highly suspect, in fairness, maybe the person who happened to be interested in the same Kia Tucson out of the ~20 on their lot also ended up walking). It's okay to offer high prices, what isn't okay is to lie.
I had a great experience at Russ Darrow Mazda. My sales representative Donavin was very friendly and knowledgeable about the vehicles. They were very patient and understanding about my likes and dislikes when looking for a vehicle. This was my first time ever shopping at a dealership for a vehicle and they made me want to come back in the future! The whole process was smoother than I expected and everything was explained clearly—no surprises. It felt like they were trying to be helpful rather than push a sale and I really appreciated it! I definitely recommend checking them out if you’re in the market for a car!
We worked with Donavin and bought our first Mazda. He helped us get a reasonable deal and actually worked patiently with us for multiple days since we had to drive from Madison. One day he stayed until 10 pm trying to help us find the right car. He’s funny, personable, and kind. Very thankful for him and our experience.
