# Summary The dealership excels in sales, with customers praising knowledgeable and patient staff who offer personalized service without high-pressure tactics and competitive financing options. However, service department experiences are inconsistent, with some customers reporting long wait times, poor communication, and prioritization of volume over quality care, contrasting sharply with the positive sales interactions.
I was so thrilled to finally work with a saleswoman! Ragin took such good care of me and was a pleasure to work with. She answered all my questions about various Jetta models while we test drove them, and I asked a LOT of questions. If she wasn't 100% sure on something, she would find out. It wasn't a typical sales experience at a car dealership- I never once felt pressured, she was incredibly patient with me, and she gave me a lot of financing options to fit my needs. She made herself very accessible even after we closed the deal. I really liked the finance manager, Jonathan; he really worked with me on the OTD price, and the general manager Chris was, in my opinion, hilarious. Doing paperwork with him was a trip. Overall the dealership had a lot of models to choose from, lots of colors and different trim packages. We all know that buying a car can take hours sometimes, but they were pretty efficient. Looking forward to getting my car serviced there. Very professional atmosphere, but fun people. 10/10 would recommend.
I had a great experience at this dealer Mo was that sales rep taking care of me, he was fantastic, not pushy, not trying to sell lots of other things, very informative and helpful. It felt like a good deal for both. I bought an used Mazda from them Kris at financials was super as well. Much better experience than I had in Nissan of Richmond where I felt robbed I recommend them ☀️
I cannot recommend this dealership for service. I have taken two cars to them over the years out of sheer convenience and chose to ignore the issues I have had with them because of that. I will be going to West Broad from now on. My latest issue was related to my Golf’s GPS. Car was there for 2 weeks. During that time I think I received 1 or MAYBE 2 calls about the status of my car. Any other communication was due to me chasing my service manager down to see what was going on. I was told that the issue is with a VW technical team and they are unable to do anything without hearing back from VWoA. So here we are, after a few weeks I still have a car with no working GPS and hoping that the dealership actually follows up with my case. I hate being a Karen but I just ended up calling VWoA and opening up a case myself, we’ll see where that lands us. At least the technician/car mover left me a nice present in my seat, I was wondering why the interior smelled like a mix of Watermelon & Cherry.
ELATED to write this REVIEW!!! From the moment I walked in a month ago John Saffore has been AMAZING and PATIENT as getting a vehicle would be a process. He listen as I told him what my family needs were in a vehicle. Never pushy. I was able to get the vehicle I needed, within my timeframe and it was affordable!!! Words cannot express the gratitude I have for John Saffore and the finance manger Chris Fitzgerald. More than just a buy!!! They are the best!!! They have a lifetime customer!!
I have been coming to this location for over 20 years. From the days of a small square waiting room to the now awesome, newly renovated show room and waiting area, things have changed a tremendous amount during this time. I have been driving VW since the early 2000s and currently have 4 vehicles in the family. I can not think of a negative experience in all these years I have been bringing cars to be serviced to this location. I have also bought several here as well. I have always been 100% satisified with the service and the folks that worked at VW Midlothian. However, my most recent experience couldn't be any further from the wonderful history of great service. I set up an appointment for 9am for a simple oil change. In years past, I can only think of a few times where this took longer than an hour. This time, I waited nearly 3 hours. I was told they had scheduled 50 cars to be serviced with 7 techs. Doing the math, that means each tech had to complete approximately 6-7 cars per hour. That is impossible and it showed, as it took them 3 hours to complete a simple oil change. Clearly there has been a change.---And not a good one. I was quite disappointed and saddened that the place I have come to trust and enjoy bringing cars to get services had deteriorated to this level. I also feel bad for the techs as these expectations are unreasonable and absolutely unsustainable. I will now have to consider bringing my car back to this location for service in light of the focus on numbers and not quality care. However, I truly hope that they will return to their roots of quality over quantity and again create experiences for other customers that I experienced over the last 20+ years. Please bring it back VW Midlo.
