# Summary The dealership receives sharply divided reviews, with some customers praising specific service staff members like Clint, Becka, and Steve for professionalism and quality work on major repairs, while others report serious concerns about diagnostic accuracy, potential safety issues, and unprofessional handling of complaints. Experiences range from highly satisfied customers recommending the dealership for complex engine replacements to frustrated customers who question whether suspicious findings were missed or deliberately overlooked to generate additional sales.
Trash service, never any clear answers. Only one guy is easy to work with (taller guy in service department). Appointments mean nothing, EV specialists are non existent. Should just avoid Columbus. Go to Atl or Auburn for better service and prices.
Attention females! Beware of this service center!!! On December 4th I dropped my 2015 XTS off for a starter/ wiring issue. They kept the car overnight and I picked it up late afternoon December 5th. When they called to say they needed to keep the vehicle overnight I asked them if they could check the shocks and struts and give me an estimate on replacement cost. They happily obliged and called back with a $3000+ estimate for shocks/struts and alignment. I declined to have the parts replaced at the moment and said I would follow up after Christmas when I would have repair money to spare. On my way home December 5th, my "suspension system" message came on in the dash message center. I called and told the girl behind the service check in desk my message was on and she said it's because they checked the suspension system for the estimate. I received a letter in the mail a week or so later offering me a 5% discount on the estimate they offered. Happy Holidays from Son's Cadillac ๐ Fast forward to today, January 9th. I'm at my regular oil change/brake/tire shop that I use for general maintenance for an estimate on shocks and struts, my car has been here less than 30 minutes, and in my line of sight the entire time.... the mechanic immediately comes to me and asks if I've had work done recently? I explain my inquiry about replacing the same parts at the dealership and he's concerned they didn't mention my sway bar link has been cut, possibly recently, due to the lack of rust/ debris in the cut gap.....hmmmm. Mind you, the mechanic here found the issue within 20 minutes. Scary. I called and spoke with the service director Steve Mills and asked him how his specialized mechanics missed this obvious, somewhat dangerous defect if they inspected my car enough to throw a suspension indicator message on my dash?!? He immediately became defensive when I suggested the defect was caused or ignored to generate a $3000 additional sale, and replied, " how do you know the mechanic you're at now didn't do it?!" The level of unprofessionalism he demonstrated was insulting. Despite the starter warranty I have for the 1600$ repair I paid for in December I'm afraid to leave my car at Son's Cadillac and would not let them work on any of my loved ones vehicles. It's not a money issue, it's a SAFETY issue. And after speaking with Steve Mills, it's a lack of trust and customer service concern as well.
Great team of people there. I mostly deal with Clint when I go there. He's a great guy, and very upfront and honest with you.
This is just a follow up from a week ago.In my over 35 years experience in maintence field.Mr Clint, mechanics and GM.They did an flawless job in replacing the engine.I give credit where it due at.We was one of the first in the area for total engine replacement. There is no doubt in my mind that Son's.Has has the skills, expertise and knowledge to get any job done.In knowing that first hand working with them.I would refer anybody to them. The communcation was the key to a successful job well done.In every problem you find a solution.Which Son's is just that and mich more. Remember seeing is believing. In closing all this would'nt been possible without (Seamless Customer Service Skills).
Becka and Steve have been extremely helpful in the service dept. We had a few major issues that came up that were covered under extended warranty, which they did a great job of navigating. When considering who to purchase a vehicle from, I always consider the service dept- you'll only deal with sales when you buy, but you'll have a lot more interaction with service over the life of your vehicle. Good team!
