# Summary The dealership receives mixed feedback, with most customers reporting significant mechanical problems shortly after purchase, high-pressure sales tactics, and additional fees not reflected in advertised prices. One satisfied customer praised a specific salesman's knowledge and straightforward approach, though the majority of reviews warn against deceptive practices and lack of post-sale support.

It’s pretty obvious that vehicles coming out of the Roanoke location are being given the absolute bare minimum work needed to slap an inspection sticker on them and push them off the lot. Seven months into owning this vehicle and I’ve already had to replace tires, shocks, struts, tie rods, brakes, boots, and more. No one should be dealing with that this soon after buying from a dealership. I took the vehicle to another location for a second opinion and I’m told something totally different from this place. The “as-is” sticker is clearly how they protect themselves while unloading vehicles with existing problems onto customers. The entire sales process also felt high pressure and rushed, like they wanted the paperwork signed before I had time to fully inspect or think through the purchase at my own pace. Looking back, it honestly makes me question how much the salesman already knew about the condition of the vehicle. I would never buy another vehicle from Southern Team again, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend anyone else do it either unless they’re prepared to spend thousands in repairs shortly after driving off the lot.

This is to warn all individuals going through this company to be precautious of the condition of these cars. Have someone you know come look at it preferably a mechanic. They tried to sale me a car with an oil leak that even I noticed. Then in under a year my transmission went out. No help. No offer to cover repair or even a percentage of repair. No offer to trade it out. I am paying payments on a vehicle that can’t even be drove. They lack customer service. They are unjust. They have no compassion or sign of knowing right and wrong. Do they truly think it is right to not offer any help after a vehicle goes out in under a year with something as serious as the transmission??! Also, might I add there were several other issues with this vehicle as well. If you can avoid them all together it would be my recommendation. In addition if you are gathering assistance through a bank for a loan be aware as nobody will tell you, there is no help at all from anyone if you are given a crappy car. Please be cautious. I would never want anyone to go through this nightmare. Thousands of dollars to fix a car I’m already paying thousands of dollars for and again all this happened in less than a years time of getting this car. Im disgusted and quite frankly emotionally drained with this whole situation. I will NEVER recommend this place ever!

Bill Roy. Best salesman ever! I love my jeep and Bill made it simple and was very straight forward.... And he knew a lot about the different motors in the make and model I was looking at.... Even my husband said that was his best experience with a delarship. Very clean inside of store and super friendly staff. I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase. Thanks yaw!

TLDR: I went in to buy a car listed as $16733, and somehow the price they presented was ~$20500. Read $4k more. Ribens (sales guy) was a good person. He was personable and attentive. He is a salesperson and put out what you'd expect from a salesperson, but that's OK he's just doing his job. I'm giving this experience 1 star because of how this company operates. We looked at a car, we came back later in the day to buy the car, and suddenly the car was $1200 more than the list price on their website. Then they wanted to add their $900 dealer fee or whatever (glad Wendy's doesn't add a dealer fee when I go pick up a #6 meal). Then they wanted to add some sort of theft protection for $400 (if my car is one of the .01% of cars stolen) they'd give me $2500 to a new car, of which I'm sure $1300 would go towards their ridiculous fees. I told them to take that off because I have insurance. Then they pretended to do me a favor to lower it back to their advertised price. This is a slimy company, the exact reason that there are so many jokes about used car salesmen. Oh and the car had pieces falling off of it that they tried to hide by literally duct taping it together. "Oh I didn't see that, and I sat there during the test drive"... Yeah you sat there because you knew you had to keep it from falling off.

Went in and had an awesome experience my salesman. I was ready to cut a large check for downpayment and came prepared with my own pre-approved auto loan through my bank. The manager came in and tried to pigeonhole me into taking a loan with one of their finance partners which couldn't even begin to compete with the APR and monthly payments from my bank. I was told they did not accept wire transfers and that if someone else came with cash to buy the car before the bank check arrived that they would sell the car. I've never met a business that was so averse to making a sale. I went down the road to Priority Honda and bought my car (highly recommend them, Priority is amazing). I feel fortunate that I have a basic understanding of loans, interest, etc. because these people are looking to take folks for a ride with their financing policies. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
