I was looking for a very specific 2026 Palisade. I reached out to 4 different Hyundai dealerships. Two never even called ma and one told me that the vehicle I wanted didn't exist yet. I would need to wait until spring / summer before it would be available. I then get a call from Cory Cureton from Stivers Hyundai. I told him what I was looking for. Within 30 minutes, he had found the vehicle and took a personal video of the car and sent it to me. Even better then that, I got the vehicle cheaper then I ever imagined. I had a very disappointing experience with Stivers Hyundai and Genesis of Columbia. Having done business with Lexus for many years, I have never encountered this level of inconsistency or lack of professionalism. During negotiations, the down payment amount was increased in the proposal without my knowledge in order to meet my requested monthly payment. Thankfully, I reviewed the figures carefully and brought it to their attention, and the proposal was revised. After we agreed on terms, I was informed that I would need to pick up the vehicle, despite prior confirmation that delivery had been arranged. I was then told I would need to pay for delivery, which had not previously been disclosed. Finally, I was informed that a co-signer was required—even though I had already been approved without one. The entire deal was then canceled and my deposit refunded the day before the scheduled delivery. This vehicle was intended to be a 40th birthday gift from my husband—what should have been a celebratory milestone instead became a frustrating and disappointing experience. To be fair, my sales representative was excellent—patient, responsive, and professional throughout the process. Unfortunately, the transaction was ultimately terminated by management. Words of Advice: I encourage future customers to obtain all terms in writing, review documentation carefully, and confirm details at every step. Transparency and consistency were not reflected in my experience. Moral of the story: The contrast between my experience with Lexus and Genesis was striking. Over the years, Lexus has consistently provided a top-notch, transparent, and professional buying experience. Unfortunately, my experience with Genesis fell far short of that standard, lacking the consistency, clarity, and professionalism I have come to expect when purchasing a luxury vehicle.
