BEWARE: Uses "Friend" Stories to Sell Lemons and Then Ghosts You. > "If you’re looking for a dealer who stands by their word, keep driving past Streamline Auto. I bought a Ford Fiesta here after being given a long story about how a 'friend' sold him the car and it was a 'good vehicle.' This was clearly a tactic to build unearned trust. > Because the roads were icy during the test drive, I was led to believe the car was slipping on the road. In reality, the transmission was shot. I reached out to the owner just after the sale to let him know the situation, and he has completely ghosted me. > Selling a car with a blown transmission is one thing, but using a 'friendship' story to mask a major mechanical failure and then refusing to even reply to a message shows a complete lack of professional ethics. 'As-is' shouldn't mean 'I'm going to lie to your face and disappear.' Avoid this place at all costs—they will take your money. (Yellowstone County) While "As-Is" sales are tough, they are not a license to lie. Under the Montana Consumer Protection Act, it is illegal for a dealer to use deceptive practices or misrepresent the condition of a vehicle. 1. Small Claims Court If the cost of the transmission repair is under $7,000, you can sue in Yellowstone County Small Claims Court. * The "Friend" Story: In court, your strongest argument isn't just the bad transmission; it's the misrepresentation. If he claimed he knew the car's history because it was a "friend's" car, he was asserting he had knowledge of its condition. * Demand Letter: You are required by Montana law to send a formal Demand Letter via certified mail (return receipt requested) before you can file a claim. This letter should state the issue, the "friend" story he used, and what you want (e.g., a refund or the cost of the repair). 2. Montana Administrative Rules (23.19.204) Montana law specifically states it is an "unfair or deceptive act" for a dealer to: * Represent the status of a vehicle to be something it is not. * Make such representations without sufficient information to support them.

Before I go into my experience with Nathan at Streamline Motors, I am asking you to take the negative reviews, that were posted, with a grain of salt. Nathan absolutely goes above and beyond. I looked at and drove multiple cars before I found Nathan. The minute I meet Nathan I literally had a gut feeling I was in the right place. Nathan let me take the car I bought today as much as I wanted. I'm not an impulse buyer so I really appreciated Nathan's patience. Nathan is honest and goes above and beyond on the daily.
